Yeah....I really want to like this...but...the reality leaves me rather cold.
I'd expect way more than that and way nicer for my £550k.

Will Aston Martin works not do a better job for half the money?

To be honest there are lots of cars at much less money that I would prefer. If I was so loaded that spending half a million on a toy was something I did reasonably regularly then the Aston might spark a bit of interest but I would be more likely to put it in the pot towards the new yacht or the wife's super luxury horse lorry!

I’m not keen; it’s a bit overdone.

It’s £550k plus local taxes.

I agree with certain updating of older designs - making a modern classic more up to date. So I can see the point of updating the infotainment, dash and headlights, and maybe improving the suspension and so on. But the rest of the proposed mods and styling changes just looks like suspect aftermarket tat to me.

It’d have to be a Blue Train Bentley for me.

Nicer looking than anything they make now, but as has been observed the price is silly.

If I liked this and I don't, I'd save some money and only have the interior done. The old exterior looks fine as it is. I'd want a new gearbox, too. Wasn't this the car that drove Clarkson mad with its crappy ' box on Top Gear?

And another thing. Why is it called the Vanquish 25 when the donor car is only 18 years old?

In hindsight I'd spend a significantly smaller sum and buy one of the Works modified S versions with the 6 speed manual box. I don't think the infotainment mods are of any interest to me either so long as it'll play CDs or I can link my iPod to it(even the old fashioned way, with a cable).

And another thing. Why is it called the Vanquish 25 when the donor car is only 18 years old? That's what I thought too. Also, it makes me feel so old... I've never really liked the Vanquish TBH. It looks too butch, too industrial, too old school. I'll wait for the DB9 remix. It's only three years removed from this...
