Another terrible grill and I really don’t like the plastic lower trim Audi put on all their quick stuff in recent years, but it might be a lot better with the black pack. 563hp, Quattro, voodoo suspension as standard, decent quality interior and hopefully epic first year depreciation could make it interesting. Maybe. I don’t mind that it looks like an A4, I like low key, but what is it with the awful steering wheel?

And the hideous 1980s American full width rear light strip.

The A/S8 used to be so handsome and simple with clean lines....... this is far from it.

That sure is a horrible steering wheel. They sometimes offer SW options. Here's hoping this is one of those times.

I don't mind full width lights, and the grille is actually better proportioned than in some of their models (or most new German cars for that matter). Wheel is awful - I'm wondering whether the two silvered gaps are meant to echo lower air intakes (false or real)?

I don't mind that, yes the steering wheel is horrific but outside that it looks good, especially compared to what BMW are churning out currently.

I agree that the grille does not look as bad as on other Audis and v the 7 series it looks positively stylish. And that is something I thought I'd never say about Audi v BMW front ends. But the exterior is spoilt by that chrome trim that runs all the way round thew car, almost like a thin bumper car skirt. And having seen a few Audis with full width rear lights lit up, they really don't work.
And that wheel - OMFG. I could not sit behind that.
So, a nice shape ruined by some detailing. That is such a common theme now.
