In Trader Joe’s the other day, which is a slightly upmarket grocery store. I was surprised to see that they are selling Snoop Dog branded wine. I didn’t try it.

Saw both grandkids today (in an outside environment), first time for about 15 months. They've grown !

The 19 Crimes red is bloody good, imho, and well worth a try.
Good long legs for an everyday red.
Depends on the cost though.

It might also reduce evaporation/loss from the reservoir too.

I think it is 19 Crimes that has an app. If you scan the label you get a video history of the criminal on the label. Prs Presumably in his case you get a Just Eat ad?

About 11am this morning I had a reminder of why vinyl seats in cars was a recipe for horror in hot weather. I had left our quad bike out in the sun for couple of hours and without thinking jumped on (whilst wearing shorts) to start it. And then jumped off fucking quickly.

Naked wines.
Well, clothed in a bottle obviously.
Enter a stupid an non original little quiz where the answers they are looking for are as obvious a the proboscis on a Walrus face.
I am giving it a go for a while to see if it has any merit, I do like a nice pottle of blonk now and then but have become rather stuck with variety absent. Usual taste is Wolff Blass or the 19 Crimes.
I'll let you know how I get on.

My neighbour is 90 tomorrow so I ordered some dark chocolates which I have been informed she likes.
Delivered a little while ago by amazon/dpd and I opened the outer packaging which is just as well, the chocolates had fused into one blob due to being allowed to get hot during transit. Not the best of deliveries.

Texas has just passed an open carry law so anyone can freely carry their gun about their person in plain sight at any location…

Texas has just passed an open carry law so anyone can freely carry their gun about their person in plain sight at any location… Why? Just why? You can't use your gun and it surely makes the Police even more nervous and more likely to use their's. Too many lunatics in too many positions of power, the world over!

Must admit, if asked I'd have said Texas already was open-carry! This afternoon I visited patient who has Type-2 diabetes. I've been trying to get him to change from full-fat Irn-Bru (at least 3 2-litre bottles/day!!!) to something even a little less sugary for about 6 years, on and off. Today, I walked in and saw .. .. 3 empty bottles of Irn-Bru Extra! Taken a while and it's only 3 bottles - but it's a start!! (For those who don't know, Extra is the other sugar-free option Barr's make, in addition to their sugar-free [previously known as Diet] range). Next step is to cut out the takeaways - any bets on how long that'll take??

Yeah you can openly carry a gun and when you go to buy one even if you have mental health issues then as long as there are no objections in the 3 day waiting period you are free to go away with it. Meanwhile they're trying (or may have already passed) a law that says if you dare to offer someone waiting in line to vote a drink of water or a bite to eat you're committing a criminal act. Remember the Yanks regularly have to queue for hours to vote and Republican states are trying to restrict voting in a lot of areas - generally Democrat leaning ones - to make the wait even longer. They're a special country!

Herself sold her Superb a couple of weeks ago, as her 78-year old cousin finally bit the bullet and has stopped driving, passing on her Hyundia i20. Herself couldn't face holding on to the car having had both dogs put to sleep in it, plus it was starting to give grief AND was really too big for her needs now.
Anyway, the car needed a few bumps and scrapes sorting (a good friend who's a panel beater to trade did the business for £300), had a full service (not needed for another 10K miles/10 months!) and thoroughly cleaned by, guess who? Last thing she wanted done was new plates, as the original ones were a bit knackered, plus rust form the screws staining the paint etc.
So, the plates. Helen got the new ones on Monday, and I fitted them last night. Aluminium ones. No biggie; I thought nothing much of it to be honest. Mentioned it on the passing to madam this moring, as you do - nope, she was adamant the plates are perspex! End result of all that was, as I had to nip into B&Q on the way home, Halfrauds is right next door, so I went in to get the proper info. Definitely aluminium the fella informed me. As, it seems, as of about 8 months ago, 'plastic' plates are no longer allowed!!
Another thing he told me was, the plate-making equipemt in Halfords stores - and quite possibly every other plate maker - isn't actually theirs; it is leased from the DVLA. He said that all their old perspex plate making equipment was removed last year and the new kit installed, though with little or no fanfare about it all. Certainly the first I've heard about it - anyone else?
Oh, and the i20? Pretty dire tbh, but it cost her not a lot, £30 VED and cheap as chips on fuel. Happy days!

I had to get plates made up for my daughter and I also put the plates on my brother in laws car, both in the last year and both were aluminium plates. I'm not sure that aluminium is any more green or sustainable than plastic, if that's the reason.

I'm a big fan of Stihl gear. I've got a chainsaw, blower, brush cutter and I've just bought a multi tool with long reach hedge trimmer attachment to deal with the large shrubs and hedges.
The brushcutter hasn't idled for a couple of years. It starts fine and runs great, but would always stall at idle.
I've had the carb off for cleaning and fully adjusted to no avail. I was about to give up and send it to the mower shop, but noticed today that the head rotated when I was starting it.
Took the engine off the shaft and removed amd separated the clutch. There were signs of corrosion, so I cleaned it up and reassembled.
Started, idle adjusted and it sits there quite happily without the head rotating.
I don't like machinery getting the better of me.

The crappy weather for some of the weekend seemed like the final excuse not to finish off installing the final bits of the new kitcen - tasks that I've been successfully putting off for an embarassingly long time (about 11 months). Anyway one of my least favourite things is fitting the door panel onto integrated appliances and especially dishwashers. You can usually adjust the fitting on a fridge or freezer door but the dishwasher always seems to be a 'one chance only' thing. I did it though and the fit is perfect. The only, er, slight problem is that the new kitchen is an IKEA one and those of you familiar with them might know that generally the carcases and doors on them are taller than, say, a B&Q one so you have a shallower plinth but the same height for th eworktop. That's not a problem until you get to the dishwasher where the door usually pivots quite high up so there's a large amount of IKEA door that hangs below the dishwasher's own door. It's at that point - all fully fitted with millimetric precision - that you find the bottom of the IKEA door fouls on the bottom part of the dishwasher beneath its own door meaning you can now only open the door about 1/3 the distance it normally goes, i.e. flat. Bugger. It was at that point I gave up and decided to take a nice, relaxing drive to Dundee to drop off the 430 in advance of its warranty work today
