I had a fall last night while out running. Took the brunt of the landing on my left index finger. I have movement and don’t think it’s broken but am going to get it checked out by the doc today. Knee and elbow were cut to bits too...
Told my son in when I got back that I’d been in a fight with a bear. He didn’t believe me 😂
My coworker who has the 370Z asked me to accompany him to the shop this morning and since my knee isn’t bending much, I said we could go in my car. Didn’t want to be struggling to get out of his car!

I fell off a ladder at the farm earlier in the year and dislocated the middle finger of my right hand. I put it back in myself and didn't bother with a doctor. TBH, I don't think they could have done any better. It's straight, but you can see the enlarged tendons either side of the middle knuckle.

Ice and warming pack in turns over a couple of hours should help that.

That little tale made me cringe, by the way. Rodge, I hope your finger is OK and that you're not too sore.

The thumb was nearly 90 degrees at the first knuckle. I popped that back myself too.

Serious pain trying to do things with lessened digits!

The thumb was nearly 90 degrees at the first knuckle. I popped that back myself too. I dislocated my right thumb at the second knuckle back in June, dropping a glass table top on it. Popped it back in place myself as it wasn't the first time it had happened and the wife would only have yelled at me anyway. Still quite tender when bent and the grip strength hasn't come all the way back but I put that down to getting old. And I broke my second toe (again. 3rd time) on my right foot back in September when I slipped going into the kitchen in my flip flops. It was straight-ish so I strapped it to the third toe and hobbled for a couple of weeks.

I have for some time believed that so called modern art practitioners should be retained somewhere with very comfortable wallpaper. Seriously, the unmade bed and the animals cut in half? Where is the art in that?

Like anything, there’s good modern art and shite modern art.
And for that matter; define “art”. To some people it consists of solely Old Masters in a portrait gallery.

Working from home this morning and maybe this afternoon as there is apparently no electricity at work due to planned maintenance.
Why they have to cut power to businesess who are extremely busy in the run-up to end of year, trying to make as much as we can before year end, I do not know. Couldn't they have waited until between Christmas and New Year when most manufacturing places are on shut-down anyway before doing this, and why did we only get 2 full working days notice of this (letter received last Thursday) making it hard to plan round it?
The UK power cut website does not include details of planned cuts, only unplanned "emergency" incidents, so you cannot track if the power has been restored yet. The national power cut helpline, 105, just rang and rang with nobody answering.... maybe they have a power cut at the call handling centre??

I am guessing that is a rebranding of Scottish and Southern, they are the ones hired by the previous landlord to replace a boiler, in turn they hired a bunch of miscreants called D&K plumbing who deliberately left a valve open to create a call out situation over a weekend.

Been away for a long week-end with younger daughter in France. Did the Lille city tour coach trip, and the English commentary voice sounded very much like it was the BBC's Justin Webb

Ah, modern jazz. If I could only put one type of music into room 101, it would be a really hard choice between rap and modern jazz.

(sigh) ..... Legends of Apollo sponsored by British Airways. I had a "circular" email promoting the event.
This looked good, some insight into the Apollo spacecraft programme with special guest speakers etc etc; 2 nights only in London next year. Just looked up the price of a ticket....... £950 !! I guess I'll have to give that a miss, then

I wasn't in the office yesterday and when I came in this morning there was a gift bag containing a bottle of Icelandic vodka tucked in a corner of my desk. Nobody appears to know where it came from but it will be returning home safely with me tonight.

That's the trouble with them Vikings; sneaking over here and leaving bags of vodka before stealing off in the night unnoticed.
