Must be aimed at my sister then, those marketing guys are certainly accurate with their predictions.

Ate at a Chick Fil A this evening. They had a table set for fallen soldiers which I thought was kind of cool. I know Americans love their military more than most countries but good to see it happening for Remembrance Day.

They opened a branch over here only to have to shut again due to the American owners donating money to anti same-sex marriage group Exodus International.

I love good customer service. Flying with United and my first plane of 3 was delayed. I wasn’t concerned as I had 2 hours of a layover before my second flight. Anyway, the United staff in Manchester (New Hampshire) called me and told me there’s a chance I’d miss my connecting flights and they organised another flight that would connect me with my final one. I’m now sitting in the back of a Lincoln Navigator, being driven to Logan International for a later flight. Didn’t get to see Boston at all while I was here so might get a glimpse of it.
The Navigator is comfortable but the American styling inside isn’t to my taste.

On a different note.
Why do people insist on buying single ply bog roll? A number of air BnB’s I’ve used recently have had it. Talk about a false economy. It’s useless! Not even good enough to wipe your arse with.

When I was traveling I used to take one decent roll with me. Relying on some of the establishments out there is a bit like a lottery. No, I never took tins of beans.

It's clearly not the commercial world that has a monopoly on stupidly early xmas decoration - saw the first set of exterior decs going up on Friday the 8th of November. By my reckoning they'll be up for two months, or a full sixth of the year.

Is he looking to use your facilities to stockpile medicins for a no-deal Brexit?

It's the wrong kind of paper, he's going to need something much softer. Unless it's a gift for Corbyn.

Just bought my first ever Bruce Springsteen album. Even though I have never listened to his stuff on there, tracks from Western Stars kept getting added to my discover new music type playlist that is auto generated by Spotify.

On the way back home from Glasgow last night when I was approaching Edinburgh I saw the welcome to Edinburgh sign, just before you take the sliproad to head to the Bridge. Every time I see it it makes me think of adverts for golf clubs where they have a graphic of how much better/further your golf ball will fly if you upgrade to the next expensive handicap reducer. Something like 'buy this super new Callaway/Mizuno/Ping/etc. and you'll get an extra 250 yards on your drives'.
I've never been sure what it is about Edinburgh that its meant to represent.

Probably designed by someone who was caught doodling whilst thinking about his golf game and to save his job he put it forward as the finished article. Those looking at it would be a bit "Emperor's Clothes" and agree that it was a brilliant design. Having said that I have played Morton Hall and Royal Burgess in Edinburgh and they are both very fine courses indeed.

If there was a wheel where the D is I could kind of see it as a 1920's art-deco sports car poster. I wouldn't' say Edinburgh or even Scotland, though

I'm surprised you don't get the logo; it's inspired by the Forth Bridge and Arthur's Seat and the curving rooftops of The Scottish Parliament. Amazed you can't see that.

Looks more like the Sydney Opera House to me. Not enough wonky shapes for the Scottish Parliament building.

When a dog sits down and drags its hind quarters along, presumably for the frictional relief of itching, the slang term is 'yachting', which has always amused me - picturing as I do a dog with a jaunty grin and little sailor's hat, proceeding at speed. I mention this as we've just followed a dog that yachted along merrily for a good 50-60 yards on a grass verge, about which its owners seemed unconcerned.
(Our dogs are not nautical coves, mercifully.)

Or of problems with the anal glands, I believe. Unsavoury stuff, whatever! Yep Daisy has had issues in the past, she has been known to scoot along on her arse when they are giving her grief, it helps massively that the youngest is now a trainee vet nurse and she seems to get some perverse pleasure squeezing Daisy's anal glands.
