A mini Porsche Macan! I quite like that.

Looks like someone tried climbing the ugly tree with an E-Pace and dropped it before they reached the top.

I see E-Pace at the front and Juke (autocorrect to Junk!) around the rear. Not a compliment.

Some great writing in that article
I'm seeing Juke with the stupidly high front arches and a bit of CX-3 at the rear...

Look like the boot is really small, so not even Chris M will buy one.
The interior looks pretty poor in the pictures.

Look like the boot is really small, so not even Chris M will buy one. Not at all: Apparently you can stand 2 golf bags vertically, using the lower load box.

That silly boot box, which isn't original (Honda Civic anyone?), also means that a spare wheel is out of the question...

I've got a large boot box under the floor in the 3 series. Comes in really useful for storing stuff out of sight and stopping it rolling about in the back. I usually have scrapers, large de-icer cans, winter hi-viz parker coat, folding shovel (for shallow graves), and the load area separators in it.

Has yours got the compartment for the long extendable separator that goes across the width of the boot?

You can get the load cover under the boot floor as well as the load restraint bar in my Dads 6 GT (the 535d didn't quite have enough width for the load cover unit), with loads of room left over, it's a really big and deep space.

When someone says "Ford Puma" to me I see small iconic coupe which handles and is geat fun, why resurrect an iconic name and then slap it on to a mini SUV!
And that interior is so meh, why do Ford produce such drab, uninspiring and dated interiors!

I look at that and all I see is a Juke. Certainly not what a Puma should be!

I think that's a good effort - looks like an SUV Focus, which is what it was always going to look like. And I applaud what is pretty clean and unfussy detailing throughout the exterior.
Pricing will be very interesting. Anybody considering a Focus as a family car will definitely look at one of these I expect.

Is this a replacement for the Ecosport or is it another Fiesta based pretend off roader?

Is this a replacement for the Ecosport or is it another Fiesta based pretend off roader? I think it does replace the Ecosport. It doesn't promote itself as an off-roader so it can hardly pretend to that.

Talking of spare wheels, would it not fit on the tailgate? Even more faux 4x4xbull.

EcoSport being the cheap budget entry option (there will be a second gen, shockingly), and this is the 'sporty' alternative. Like X6 is to X5 kinda thing.

Tall hatchback with increased ride height = pretend off roader.
I still refuse to accept S*V as a thing, it's nonsense.
