That sounds like a thoroughly shit way to start the ownership experience. It's really not good enough but I suspect COVID will be the excuse for a lot of poor service issues.

It might be the local dealer, but I always understood that leasing companies put all their business through a low number of dealers to get the best deals. It is to be hoped that if it is not local, they will bring it on a low-loader. When I ran a big fleet of cars many moons ago, every Ford we bought through our chosen leasing company came all the way from Glasgow to London. And we never knew when they were coming - they'd just turn up.

It doesn't make sense when the car is in stock at a dealer somewhere. Not the toughest logistical problem to solve and get right....
