Didn't realise I hadn't commented on this already! Brought to mind by seeing a TFSI version of this exact colour scheme this morning. Couldn't make out the wheels on it, but it was driven by a very attractive 30-something brunette, with two equally attractive blondes as passengers. Have to say, the reat seat passenger didn't look all that comfortable! I hope you don't have to sit in the back Chris!! (Rather liked the car, too, just in case you wondered)

I also think it's nice but am not keen on the wheels. Anyway, hope it's nice to own and drive.

Has had me looking at S1s, but I'm not sure I want to back to using both legs again...

I'd be hopping mad if I couldn't use both legs. (Agree about fancying an S1 though. I hope they make a next-generation S1 on the new MQB AO platform that the new Ibiza is now on)

Together for the last time: Collected this afternoon in a handover room, good job as it's been raining all day in the south-east. She's still getting used to all the technology; same back to our place after collection, had dinner and read through some of the instruction manuals. It's got sat nav with traffic, and an ability to record RDS traffic info, plus hands-free phone dialling and receiving. Only one issue so far, her phone charger isn't working from the 12V socket EDIT: And I am sure that Bob S would be delighted to know that I've already washed it once, in the rain, whilst it was outside my house after the drive up the M3 from Basingstoke

I would have been disappointed if it had been otherwise.

Check the ciggy lighter socket is actually 12V, some aren't, I believe. The USB socket is used for charging phones etc.

^ TY, the plug in the socket has "12V" printed on it but we've not found a USB socket yet (it may be lurking in the glove box)...... there's an SD card slot in the dash for music/media files (there are 2 actually, the first one has the maps on it for the satnav)

My USB is in the armrest. It does state it's for charging only, so I guess it has a decent current output.

Only one issue so far, her phone charger isn't working from the 12V socket My wife had the same problem with her Audi. We got Audi to check the sockets but they were all OK. We have found that there are slightly different shaped chargers and it's the longer one you need. I think they may also be marginally narrower in the body but the contacts on the side stick out a bit further to compensate.

I'd second what John has said. Try a different charger. Don't you have a spare bank of about 5 12v sockets?

^ After-market sat-nav works, so it is the phone charger at fault. Thanks for the tip, John

Bro's missus new car. He took me round the block in it. Looks good, its a nice shape the A1 Fantastic interior, feels really classy compared to rivals. Very refined 1.2 Turbo pulls well low down. They've only done short town journeys so far; lots of stop starting and the trip shows 41mpg Boot isn't huge Rear space is very cramped. I can see the appeal for sure, and i bet the S1 is a good laugh. 250bhp is it and 4wd

Saw some unusual wheels yesterday. You might have to zoom in a bit...

Same wheels as my daughter's A1. But 2 Fusions in one car park may merit a special reward!

I see that at work all the time. The two women who work in the canteen at work both have one. I also notice that the A1 is the odd one out, as it is the only car not made by Ford.

I had a passenger ride in one of Lindsays friends temporary company car, an A1 Sportback 1.6tdi Sportback. It was a fairly firm riding and there was a bit too much wind noise at motorway speeds, but otherwise I was pretty impressed. It's much higher quality inside than the other small cars I've recently experienced and seemed to drive pretty well. I was particularly surprised by the Diesel engine, which was much quieter and smoother than I expected. I can see the appeal, I'd be interested to have a go in an S1.
