Quite reasonable, they thought it reasonable to cold call you after all. None of their business after all and they sent you the prepaid envelope so why not use it. Or file 13 the thing and put it out of your mind.

I get the feeling they will contact you ad nauseam regardless of your response. They are just like that.

OTT. It directly affects the value of your property. It seems to me they can’t win. If they consult you you’re not happy. If they don’t consult you you’ll not be happy. They are doing the right thing.

The questions seem to me, to be overly intrusive, after all they are entitled to ask an opinion but the rest. THAT is ott.

They're entitled to ask whatever they feel is necessary to gather local opinion. Whether or not someone answers is down to them. The airport expansion could negatively affect many thousands of people. The opinion of someone who lives there full time naturally carries more weight than someone who may rent out the property on short term lets. That's why those questions are not OTT.

I used to live right under the east - west landing approach for Heathrow and those homes have not been affected by it. Concord was a noisy bugger only a few hundred feet over our heads.

Presumably, if 'they' have access to the Land Registry, i.e. to know who/where to write to, they could also see and deduce that Mr P (senior) is a relative, therefore Simon is not letting the property and a proportion of their questions are too nosy. I imagine, though, that they have simply used a generic questionnaire rather than a tailored one.

They are doing the right thing. I can't see how the property's value will be affected much as it's already right under the flightpath and only 8-10 miles from the end of the runways. It couldn't possibly get any noisier than it is already... Really? Have you seen the proposed plans?

I think it’s safe to say that when consulting thousands of people they don’t send out bespoke questionnaires.
