One of the cars below is (possibly?) the new 1 series.

The top one is clearly a new Ford Focus Being serious though I wonder how much more pricey it will be than a Focus for a similarly engined and specced model.

No1 based upon aerial? I like your way of putting the question.

Transverse FWD architecture gives it a much nicer look, eh...

Unmistakenly #1 of course and my first thought when I saw the profile was Focus, but all in all quite a successful result. I even like the new grille on this - probably the most successful useage to date.

Grille looks OK on a top of the range M135i for some reason and then you see it on a white pauper spec one and the illusion is undone.

I quite like the side and rear profiles but they have spoilt the front of the 135i by having one large full width black grill under the bumper. MSport BMW's have always had this split in a much more aggressive manner. The tarted up version from the performance enhancement catalogue just looks dire but the interior looks pretty good.
It is amazingly similar to the Focus in side profile and I am sure it will be good to drive but anyone who wants 6 cylinders had better snap up one of the last of the current model.

It's a disappointing looking car pulling off the dull yet ugly trick BMW have perfected across their model range. The badge will have to work a lot harder to get the sales.

I dunno, no doubt it will get sales from people who wouldn't have previously bought a RWD 1-Series. But, it looks frumpy from all angles - an A-Class looks sleeker.
The F20 with a B58, nice whilst it lasted. If you want a sporty B58, it looks like the options are: M240i, Z4 or Supra - all which are considerably more expensive.

Wow. That looks fucking atrocious. The 20-something A45 AMG crowd are going to have a difficult choice to make if BMW get their lease rates right I'm not sure what they are trying to achieve in the promo shots by having so many photos of the nose from different angles either.

Agreed, it’s awful, even worse than the A class Halfords special edition.
A couple of new hatches have been launched over the last few months, but despite its age, I still think the Golf R is the best looking hatchback and is still what I’d buy if choosing now. Thankfully.

I like the statement about "multiple users".... in other words, some of our used cars may have been with a rental company as their previous "owner"

That’s an optimistic price. The facelift car, easily identified by the digital dash is slightly better looking, thanks to some fairly subtle changes and new front/rear lights and the cloth interior looks much better.

That's a great looking car - I keep looking at GTIs as a daily. I hope VW have the courage to resist the angry lines and gaudy styling details, that characterise modern car design, when they revise the Golf.

I don’t! If it was a VW approved, warranty protecting upgrade then I would, as another 50hp would be nice, but it isn’t. Other, more experienced VAG tuning companies are up around the 370-380hp with stage 1 tuning. Crazy how quick an R can be with a bit more power, Mountune quote 3.7sec to 60mph with 360hp and it’s not that expensive to get it up to 400+ and a low 3 sec time. Wouldn’t lose many TLGPs.
