I am no particular fan of the F-Pace normally but the visual modifications on this SVR version do a fantastic job of making it look much better (and presumably closer to the original designer's sketch) to my eyes:
www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/jaguar/first-drives/jaguar-f-pace-svr-2019-review
Those vents behind the front wheels look particularly good - the standard car doesn't have them and is the worse for it.
Sounds like a pretty good drive too. I think if I was in the market for £75k's worth of tarmac-shredding SUV, this would be fighting for top honours with the Stelvio QF.

Fabulous looking thing in my opinion but then I don't mind the standard F-Pace as long its running decent size wheels. At 75k this is probably something to buy in a years time for 50k. In this sector I'd take the QF over something like the Macan as its strikes me as the more unhinged offering but this probably gets rather close.
The odd thing I find is why the group hasn't put updated tech from Land Rover into Jaguar as the dash is looking rather underwhelming.

At £75k it appears to be outstanding vfm compared with the other usual suspects - a Porsche Cayenne with that power would be significantly more I think.
One thing I don't like is the positioning of the exhausts, I think they're too close to the centre. I've thought that of all the 4 pipe M3s (and to a lesser extent the M5s) and some others that I can't think of. I'd much rather they were closer to the wheel line but I understand that would require extra space in that area and add weight right at the rear of the car.

I'm a big fan of the F-Pace and was sorely tempted by one. Mrs Sacamano is still tempted and is doing her sums. I like the SVR a lot, albeit not sure about the bonnet vents - too Halfords for me. The vents behind the front wheels I can take or leave. The exhausts are spot on IMO with the distance separating them well judged.

I agree, it does look very good for an SUV.
Having spent some time recently in an F Pace, my opinion on it being poor quality and not good enough for the money remains. Maybe some extra bits of nice leather would help and the PCP figures are reasonable, but the Velar has to be worth the extra. The new Cayenne Turbo is in a completely different league in terms of quality, but is another £25k so it should be.

That is a lovely thing to be sure. Just had a look at the configurator (in case I find £75k somewhere...). And pretty much everything you might want - except voodoo cruise - is standard. And in a trend I'd like to see widened, all the paint options are at no extra cost.
With the TFT instruments and the wider sat nav screen, I don't have an issue with the interior. Having done the XE, I'm sure that Jag will get the i-Pace electronics (which are much like the Velar ones) into the XF and F-Pace in due course.

I’ve just read the Evo review as the Autocar/JLR mix is often dodgy and it does sound very good. Drives really well, while not being overly ‘sporty’ and being saddled with an awful ride.

It does look good, but as others have said , it’s a real shame it hasn’t got the newer velar type interior (a bit like Harry’s project 8 too) i saw saw a prototype one about 3 months ago , can’t remember if I posted the pics so I’ll do it again .

Those exhaust tips - gorgeous. Its nice to see someone still producing a V8 of this capacity. I love what they've done, but sales of the regular F-Type have been declining, it needs a facelift imo - starting with the interior.

Mmm, I quite like that. For an SVR product it looks quite restrained.

I can't see it because Autocar doesn't like my adblocker.

I can't see it because Autocar doesn't like my adblocker. Autocar is becoming a bit of a pain regarding Adblockers. I pause mine on their site and the amount of crap that is going on around their articles just slows the whole page down.

The tracking gets on my wick, why would I want them following me all over the internet? Excessive ads should be regulated against imvho.

I don't click on Autocar links any more, I just search for the car being talked about (using startpage) and look at another less twattish site. I used to have Autocrap as my homepage but I've changed it now.

I think they should offer that bodywork on the regular more in as sort of M-Sport trim. I'm sure they'd see an impressive jump in sales.

Saw one of the go faster E-Paces today and thought it looked a lot better than this one.

Isn't the F Pace due an interior refresh a la XE? Maybe they'll tweak the exterior?

I'm another one who thinks this SVR is pretty great. If I was in the market for a fast SUV, this would be at the very top of my list.

No quicker than my car and probably only does about 18 mpg on a good day. I'd have the GLC or Stelvio.

I can't abide AMG's new toothy grille - it's a real deal-killer for me.

Plus the Jag has a nice 8 pot whereas I suspect the usual German alternatives are all going to be getting by on a mere 6 - certainly the ones available for £75k.

I care not for such things but probably high twenties? It'll go into the thirties on a steady run, but I'm not doing that very often. Plenty of NSL roads around here but punctuated by roundabouts and traffic lights so a lot of stoppy starty. It's definitely better than the R32 anyway!

Some good reviews of the Alfa online. Petrol Ped had a nice blue one loaned to him for a fortnight and Henry Catchpole thought it was pretty good, too.

Seems everyone who drives the Stelvio QF is genuinely amazed its unhinged nature. It'd make a great family car for us but there is not way I'd put 60k, which is what you can get one for now, into an Alfa.
