I picked it up yesterday. Chris will be pleased to hear that I have already cleaned it, not least because it was delivered to my head office a couple of weeks ago on a wet, muddy day. I found an old Supaguard kit I have had in garage for a few years, bought off Ebay fro about £15.00, so I applied that as well. Initial impressions are good. My route home yesterday was about one third B roads and the rest on A roads, with a town and several villages. Still yet to loosen up, it already feels more lively than 150 PS should and the S Tronic transmission is excellent; never hesitating to change down, even when not in Sport mode. The steering is fairly good, although anything would seem precise after an old E-Class, and the ride is surprisingly good, too. The MMI system is intuitive and simple to use and the voice control of phone an sat nav works perfectly. A well thought out car which is very easy to drive.

Congratulations - it is certainly smart.
I thought it was black? Looks a very dark blue/grey in those photos.

it was going to be standard black, but then the dealer found one in Manhattan Grey so we had that instead.

In new Audi parlance, what does '35' allude to? 150 bhp 25 – 80kW (107bhp) and below 30 – 81-96kW (109-129bhp) 35 – 110-120kW (148-161bhp) 40 – 125-150kW (168-201bhp) 45 – 169-185kW (227-248bhp) 50 – 210-230kW (282-308bhp) 55 – 245-275kW (329-369bhp)

In new Audi parlance, what does '35' allude to? About 150 PS. Can be had in either TDI or TFSI flavour. The 190 PS version would have been badged '40'. I don't think there is anybody anywhere who can explain the reasoning behind this. Why not just badge them '150' or '190'?

I don't think there is anybody anywhere who can explain the reasoning behind this. Why not just badge them '150' or '190'? I think with downsizing, mild hybridisation, and electrification it was becoming increasingly difficult to come up with a common way of indicating the power developed.

Looks good, However not picking the car up for 2 weeks... if it was an Alvis speed 20 you'd have been over there the same day no doubt.

Enjoy it. Have you sold the Benz yet? A colleague from work is coming to see it next weekend. He already has an SL and a 190 and sounds keen.
