New version of the Merc AMG GT. A "R" roadster.

Now whenever I've looked at the AMG I've always thought "you know what that really needs is even more detailing and weird shapes at the front and a big stick on Halfrauds spolier at the back". Eh, voila. Merc have obliged.

The car actually looks like a computer game caricature of itself. Take a classic sports car shape, then make it cartoon-low and with a cartoon-over-long bonnet. Add loads of twiddles and chintz and bling and there you have it.

Also, if you're going for the Halfords look then why not go the whole hog and add those stupid dive planes on the front corners?

Mrs 12th was passed by something AMG-ish yesterday, a 63S of one kind or another. The soundtrack is a caricature for me - I'd assumed it was something chavvy. Mercedes lost its way (for me, at least) years ago.

To me this is rather close to perfection, the 'normal' GT C version. Just the right amount of aggression and muscular good looks without being tacky. This version is desirable, the new GT R version is just plain awful. Really dislike (what looks like a fixed) rear spolier. Give me the one in grey any day
