Like the look of that. Can't help but feel as though the balance of power is shifting a little though, and that Ferrari isn't aiming at McLaren at least as much as the other way around. It used to just be McLaren doing the aiming.

Do you mean McLaren is playing catch up these days?

No, the reverse. I think it used to be, but it seems no coincidence that this car matches the 720S's 'imperial' output. If it were a race, I'd say that McLaren is actually a gnat's ahead at the moment and Ferrari knows it. And that has nothing to do with 'emotive' qualities or individual preference, I am talking about as class leaders.

That makes more sense. You're probably right that on a technical level they're pushing each other hard but I agree that when you throw brands into the equation it's far more subjective.

It's certainly more attractive to my eyes than the McLaren or Lambo alternatives. How big are those wheels though? The final picture from a high shot, side-on makes them look as if they've been photoshopped to be at least 25% larger than they are.

720 bhp is a lot for the smallest Ferrari, don't you think? The full fat big boy 12 pot job is going to have to have more than 1000 bhp at this rate. When will it end?
Saying that, I like the style of the wheels. Other than that, it's just A N Other new Ferrari.

Quite a pleasant thing. Less is definitely more when it comes to aero parts.

I like that a lot. Small bits of it remind me of all the best Ferrari's of the past, from certain angles.

yeah, that's rather good, don't like the back styling though. Should have done more with the interior too, which is an oversight for me, central screen like the GTC 4Lusso would have worked much better. 700+bhp....daaaaaaaamn

I think it looks bloody awful. Having seen a few more pics of this in different colours I think this is one of the ugliest Ferrari's ever made. Looks like it has a wide smurking mouth and it's putting its tongue slightly out. As for the rear it's just not pretty nor cohesive, it's a mess, I really dislike the black trim either side of the rear lights. Perhaps I'll reconsider if one is at Blenheim Palace show in September but for now that's a dreadful update (no interior overall is a big omission for me too) and I'd take a McLaren 720S every second of the day over this. This has to be one of my biggest disappointments in a new car for a long time

Doesn't look a great deal different. I was right. Turns out this is just a revamp of the 488.

^^^ Massive value for all that performance and capability, IMO. Agreed. Just looked on Autotrader, there are over 40 for sale, with the cheapest £168,900 at a main dealer. It’s an 18 plate but has done 13,500 miles (great!) which will have dragged the price down a bit but low mileage cars start at £175k.
