They are currently showing a very nice Capri 3-litre on that website, similar price to the BMW though !

Mate had one new in 1991, same colour and engine. It was crap so he traded it for a second hand 325i on a G plate which actually went like it looked.

I don't think the cars that they are advertising are designed to be driven, they look like they are supposed to be cocooned and shown at "events" only !

You would have to really want an E30 318is to pay that much for it. That's E46 M3 money right there and I know what I'd rather have.

It's not a proper concours car- it's just a very clean example, I can see various chips on the nose of the car in some of the pictures.
It's top of the market mentalism at it's finest.

I wonder if I should ask them how much they would pay for mum's Volvo....... If they offer enough we could treat elder daughter to a much newer car instead !

If they offer enough we could treat elder daughter to a much newer car instead ! They'd pay you bugger all for it. Then they'd say, when they come to sell it, that it was worth a lot of money.

The seats are worth £2k minimum in the current E30 market.
The 318iS is currently vogue-ish because the 4 cyl multi-valve is lighter and makes the owners feel like they're in an M3, apparently. Al bollocks but the classic scene has been full of bollocks for years, so youngtimer cars will be no different to those "enthusiasts" that are running around in Austin Cambridges and their ilk.

I don't see the appeal of that.

The earliest models are the purest, I have never thought the body kit does the shape any favours. That 323i is peak E30 for me, I love the light metallic blue with the dark blue interior, those steel wheels are very smart and the 323i sounds really fruity.

That early one is very much like a 320i my dad had on long term hire when his company Austin Princess went in for some major surgery after an incident in the ice. it was a lovely thing.

I really like the 325i Sport. A client had a leggy one (over 80K from memory) which I got a lift in one day. It had no squeaks or rattles, sounded awesome and reminded me why relatively light weight and an eager engine made driving them so much fun.
