The older Mini looks so much nicer than the new one in 3 door form.

That looks fantastic. I'm tempted to buy it, even though I don't need it, just because I'd be gutted at someone else getting such a bargain. Fill your boots! I don’t care what the reason for someone wanting to buy it Flew through it’s MOT today and serviced at the same time. Log book for the new car arrived today so git plate now swapped over.

You don't need to wait to receive the V5C in the post, just check the car reg online and you know when DVLA have made the change-over. If you order new plates from Ireland you don't need any proof of the reg so you can have them made ready in advance of the change, then when you see online that the change has been made, stick (or screw) the new plates on and inform your insurers. Simples ;-)

Simples ;-) The current system is a bit daft (presumably you can check the ref no you need from the log book online?) - you do the change of owner online then they send you a new log book with the original reg no (having just sent the previous owner a new log book as he also had a git plate on it), then straight away they send another log book with the new plate. As a swap of car must be the most common trigger for a swap of a plate, you'd think they would facilitate the change at the same time as doing the change of owner. As it happened I couldn't have done it any sooner for reasons to do with the old car. Annoyingly I couldn't find the original plates for it - they were only on it for about a week as back when it was new you couldn't do a transfer over Christmas (we collected it on 23rd Dec) so it was registered with a 56 plate rather than with the git plate. I bet they'll turn up two days after it's sold. I didn't have to go through the rigmarole to get the new plates though - the garage that did the MOT just ordered them from their suppliers - I've known the owner since we were in school together.

Quite a painless sale for £2250 to the second person who viewed it - first was a joker who commented how nice it was then offered £1800 - I suspected he was an amateur trader. I thought Facebook selling pages would be a waste of time as there are so many really cheap cars on there, but as soon as Christmas was over had six people ask to view it with the space of about six hours.

I seemed to have missed this thread. So late to the party, but that's a great colour combo and spec. I'd leave the stripes myself. I think the Clubman gets an unfair press, it's no more quirky than a lot of other top sellers.
Like Martin I can easily get one to £37k. So you've got a god bargain there - enjoy it.

I think that is a bargain and I like many of the Mini range but can't get over that the Current clubman looks like someone has squashed it from the rear view (I think it is the lights exaggerating the width)

I think that is a bargain +1, seems plenty of car for comparatively little money
