Not sure if this story was reported outside of Trumpville, but the Camp Fire that’s been named the worst in California’s history, has thrown up a pretty cool story. Basically, a local nurse ended up saving people and equipment in his Toyota Tundra (nicknamed The Pandra) and the truck got pretty badly beaten up by the fire but kept going- kind of like the story on Top Gear years ago. Anyway, the owner put up photos of his truck and various companies started saying they’d replace his tyres/ gear etc. He lost his home and his workplace in the fire too. Toyota heard about it and have now said they’ll give him a new truck. Apparently he’s getting it tomorrow, on Thanksgiving Day.

That's a great story.
Have you seen some of the piss-taking of Trump regarding the forest husbandry that he erroneously claims the Finns carry out?

That's a great story. Have you seen some of the piss-taking of Trump regarding the forest husbandry that he erroneously claims the Finns carry out? I haven’t seen anything about the Finns. I do know that for about 25 years they’ve been mismanaging the forests here and this has contributed to the fires. That’s from talking to people who’ve lived here for decades and have worked in forestry, not politicians.

I did hear he went to one of the worst effected towns and managed to get the name wrong. Twice. What does a guy have to do to get sacked!

Trump claimed that he'd recently spoken to the President/Prime Minister of Finland and been told that they don't have fires because they 'rake' the forests.
Cue half of Finland going onto Twitter to point out that 80% of their country is designated as forestry and there wouldn't be enough of them to carry out this mysterious task even if they actually did it (which they don't). They also pointed out the, er, slight differences in climate and one of the best comments I saw was someone posting 'Rake America Great Again'.
Trump is just making more stuff up again to suit his political ends rather than actually addressing the fact of devastation and loss of life. He might be a great property developer but I haven't been aware of his forestry management reputation. Even if the forests have been mismanaged that's not the only cause for such widespread devastation.

There are apparently a lot of arson in the mix for the US, not heard of that in Finland/Norway etc.

Did you see his Thanksgiving phone call to a Navy officer advising them to stick with steam as it was reliable and you needed to be Albert Einstein to understand all this electromagnetic stuff? Comedy gold.

I haven't seen that, I'm sure it'll be on you tube.
Do you think he'd been watching that film 'The Final Countdown' (it was on the TV at the weekend) where the USS Nimitz manages to time travel to 1941 via some sort of storm - presumably an electromagnetic disturbance(!) - and thought it was real?
