The third film must have been good - I can't even remember what it was three days later! Coma?

I think Alien Resurrection is an interesting idea, but whilst the first half is quite well-executed the second half is just daft.

I liked it from a visual standpoint. Gal Gadot is very easy on the eye!

Enjoyed St. Vincent on Fillum 4 recently - Bill Murray as a Vietnam veteran who ends up helping his next door neighbour single mum raise her son. Occasionally borders on the twee, but Murray is wonderfully acerbic and there are plenty of laughs. When watching an Abbott & Costello film the kid asks whether they're old.
'No. They're dead. That's as old as you can get.'

As you were by Liam Gallagher .
I was expecting it to be shit , but I loved oasis so gave it a go and it's actually really good . Much better than oasis' later stuff . Looking forward to Noels new one now

I've noticed that Noel has moved away from the Oasis sound whereas Liam has released pretty much rehashed Oasis tunes (At least the ones I've heard), ironically the ones that Noel wrote. The chorus melody to Chinatown is pretty much note-for-note the same as the verse melody for Champagne Supernova.
Also ironically, he has a song called Wall Of Glass, yet he's throwing stones at his own calling Noel's music "beige"

Liam is a grade A cunt. Noel is a proper songwriter but periodically needs to remove his head from his arse. I thought High Flying Birds was genius. The second one was shite though.

Lion, a true story film about a small Indian boy who falls asleep on a train, wakes up thousands of miles from home and is too young to know the name of the town where he lives. Great film with a tearjerking twist at the end.

I thought Liam was hilarious on Later... It was like he'd been locked in a cupboard for twenty years - same haircut, coat and music. Hopefully he'll disappear again soon.
It always brings a smile to my face when I think about that time a journo knocked some of his teeth out.

Hopefully he'll disappear again soon He's just had a number 1 album and sold out Finsbury Park in under an hour , he won't be going anywhere any time soon ! I agree He can be a complete prick , but at the same time can also be really witty and funny . He has a personality at least , unlike most musicians these days

Oh well. But if he can do those things without me even being aware, I'll live with that!

Some of the artists topping the charts these days have all the character of a damp cloth, even when they manage to blag their way into a Thrones episode!

A David Mamet scripted and directed 70s crime homage, replete with twists and dialogue. Not the best film ever made, but highly enjoyable nonetheless. I think it's on TV next week:
Also really enjoying re-reading this:

I read a biographical-type tome about Squeeze and Jools's part in the band some years ago. I know many find him irritating (I can tolerate him fairly easily for the most part) so that may well find its way into my crimbo stocking!

It's a few years' old, maybe 2007 or so. It's in lots of very brief chapters, and there's plenty of humour* as well as the feeling that he's a genuinely nice guy. The sections dealing with The Tube I found particularly interesting, and he's clearly had a very eventful and interesting life
* I keep laughing at the name of a crap comedy act that gets mentioned very briefly - Dave Dud and his Dead Dad - a ventriloquist whose dummy is supposed to be his decomposing father. Alas no trace seems to be found on the interweb...

Alas no trace seems to be found on the interweb... You know, most of that seems familiar! I wonder if it was this book I read, only with a different cover? Whichever one it is, if I didn't borrow it (entirely possible) then it will be up in the loft somewhere - I don't throw out non-fictional books.

I watched it on the HD channel and found the picture quality very underwhelming. Might just be my TV, though, which isn't that great.

It looked pretty good from where I'm sitting. Does this man-maths a new telly into the house?
