Some roadworks signs went up on my commute a few weeks ago to indicate that the northbound carriageway of the dc before the Tay Bridge was getting resurfaced. Well, the works were being done at night and now they're complete. Each day on the way to work it was clear the contractors had done about 400 yards of 1 lane so they only took 8 nights to do it. The road is perfectly smooth and fully marked up now and I'm mightily impressed.
Contrast that with who ever did some sections on the coast road south of St Andrews. It took them 2 weeks each time to do a few hundred yards, although again the road is now smooth. However somewhat weirdly the road was done in sections that were not adjacent, first was the bit immediately after the 30 limit, then they did some a couple fo miles further down.
Now that they appear to have finished though it turns out they've left the most degraded section alone. This part is in terrible condition and has a couple of earlier patches where the tarmac has been squeezed out under heavy traffic and has left a nasty hole with a load of crumbled tar sitting on the verge. Obviously this isn't down to the contractors but Fife Council.
Idiots.
