Mrs RT's 500 needs an interim oil service and an MoT.
Turns out that Fiat Battersea charges a thoroughly insane £299+VAT for that and then another £55 for the MoT. I think that's actually more than Park Lane BMW would charge me for the GC!
So, while it's a pity to end the hitherto "main dealer service history", given that the car is now 5 years old, well out of warranty and not worth a very great deal any more, I've tracked down a friendly and hopefully competent Alfa/Fiat specialist who are reasonably local (Stockwell) and will do the honours for £85+VAT and £40 respectively.
Hopefully not a false economy.

It’s an oil service. A trained chimp could do it. Decent price for London if that includes the oil and filter.

My service for Bess was £142 and was not much more than that but Cheltenham so what do I know. £98 for fitting and adjusting new shoes.

Having done a few bits on my wife’s Panda I reckon you could do the oil change yourself easily enough.

£360 for an oil and filter change! I've no idea why they would be quoting a personal customer an ex VAT price. Well I do, but they're not supposed to. Our local FIAT Alfa dealer has a good number of customers who travel from London for servicing and repairs. They get better service and a the savings pay for their accommodation.

Many years ago, when Mrs 12th had a Punto, the local Fiat dealer charged the most exorbitant servicing rates. We used them once.

Firela Motors? If so good choice: been there yonks. Yup, that's the one. Good to know.
It's near Stockwell tube so I can drop it off in the morning and then take the tube into the City and then collect again on the way home (which is exactly what I do, from the same tube station, whenever my car goes in to Battersea BMW in Stewarts Rd)

Those prices are just bonkers for an oil service. Unless they are giving out Quattroportes as loan cars for the day?

Hitherto we always took it to main dealer Parkside Fiat out in Hounslow because it was conveniently near my wife's previous office and charged about half what Battersea Fiat charge. But now that my wife has changed job and works in central London, we had to find somewhere new.
Went in today and need to leave in about 15 mins to go and pick it up.

All was good. Priced as promised, no surprises. Car pronounced fit as the proverbial fiddle (as you'd hope). All done and dusted for another year for £142 all-in.
Had quite a natter in Italian with the owner when I went to pick the car up. Nice chap and clearly a keen petrolhead. Is thinking of getting himself an early Maserati GranTurismo. Had an immaculate early 70s S2 Alfa Spider up for sale that was tempting. But I'd rather a tidy S4 for half the price myself.

In the Porsche dealer getting the GT4 MOT'd for the rather high cost of £59 but that gives me a nice office to work from with a view of a 918 up for cool 1.35m, Decent tea and biscuits and a full Valet, which is actually pretty reasonable.
I remember the missus Mito going in for its major service and was quoted on average £600. HWM eventually came in the cheapest as they rightly ignored the recommended pricing but it was still nearly £400. I think Fiat/Alfa have ideas of grandeur.
