How do we even know VW own it? There are a couple of self built ones doing the rounds.

The comments section seem to agree it is a self built thing. Oddly, it sounds as if it has the DSG box, but none of the associated farty upshifts that come with it. Maybe it can be programmed out, which is a good thing.

Maybe it can be programmed out, which is a good thing. It’s programmed in, because they only occur when the gearbox is in sport mode. At least at a level that can be heard inside the car.
