Mike, thank you, I think that successfully proves the square shower cubicle won't work!! Another option is to reduce the Vanity /wc unit down to the 1200mmm version (ie it removes the central 300mm cupboard element) and in the gap we could have a tall towel rail/bin - that would solve the problem of the dust/crap trap between the shower/vanity but I would be concerned if there would be a flow to the room rather than bath/shower/wc each in a corner! On your original render with the 1500 vanity against the wall with the bath - could you move the window and the vanity unit around a bit so the vanity unit is directly above the sink and the window is offset above the toilet area. I can put shelves on the wall above the bath. I think that is the best bathroom layout just not sure the OCD would allow the offset window

Mike, I have bastardised your rendering (apologies) to give an impression of Windows left or Right with a 500mm cabinet in the centre over the sink - I think a window over the toilet and shelf/picture over the bath looks OK - views

My two pence worth would be to have the wall mounted toilet/basin/towel bin on the left wall with the window centrally placed. You could still have shelves to the right of the window, as long as the radiator/towel warmer is ok by the door. I have a render running and will add an idea I had. how to delete hotmail email

Ta, I am making the basic models from the images above but they could do with being more accurate. Mike, they look great - I think you have convinced me to have the window centrally in the room. Did you have a version of above which had the window centrally (it maybe perspective which makes it look off) and a cabinet offset to the left over the wc, and shelves tot he right over the bath.

That layout would be better for the radiator/towel warmer. I'll post the images later when they are cooked.

Mike, I think that last image is the winner!

Aren't you uncomfortably close to the towel rail when you're on the throne?

No there is a reasonable space there.

Mirror cabinet above the toilet pan? ? Who's standing in from of the mirror plucking their eyebrows / flossing their teeth / shaving their nostril hair whilst straddling the toilet?

A standard cupboard with a swing out mirror would be more traditnial.

Inset the cupboard into the wall, so it looks like a mirror but opens up to be a cupboard.

I'm not sure about the big next to the bath....somewhere for the wine to sit?
I think central window best but window above WC and mirror over sink the only alternative

When I designed the layout for my decking, I reverted back to my youth and used the DOOM editor. Yes, the game editor. It works perfectly because it uses a grid system, but doesn't require walls to be square and also allows you to view in real time 3D. Takes a bit of getting used to, but you can also chuck a few bad guys in there and take the stress out on them with a shotgun.

For an occasional bathroom a small mirror on the window sill should be enough, no reason to move stuff around, the bog on the left means it will open up the floorspace which is also important in a small space. Keeping things simple usually works and will be cheaper for no loss in appearance imho.

Agreed, the only wall which could inset the cupboard would be the one with the towel radiator on.
It is our family bathroom (our ensuite is a touch bigger....another scheme to render Mike if you are not bored with it 😀)
I can inset a large mirror into the tiles above the bath and put a mirror on the windowsill.
I did fancy a Bluetooth cabinet

Not a problem Bryan, let me know what type and size of mirror and I will render it, not as if it stops me doing anything else either, plenty of time to kill.

Bog next to the bath = handy shelf for wine/sandwich/book/car mag.

How big is the bath? It looks a bit short to me.

Short n squat bath
Mike I reckon the mirror inset into tiles about 1000x500h. Not sure if that will be too big or not

I think central window best but window above WC and mirror over sink the only alternative That’s pretty much the layout we have but without the shower. I’ve not found it a problem having the bog next to the bath (useful for putting the iPad on so you can watch Netflix whilst you have a soak!)

Cooking a render now, the mirror looks OK at that size, I am guessing landscape rather than portrait orientation.

I think I would go for a variation of the second image with the left side wall being utilised leaving the window more accessible.

I like the mirror but on the last image will I have the issue of dust)crap gap between the sink and shower? If we can solve that then it is the one to go for

The 1200mm unit would do the same job and leave room for the towel/laundry basket next to the shower, end of dust trap.

I see, Mike could you show us the image looking at the shower and 1200 unit with no towel bin so i can see the gap.
Then I think we have an A or B layout for the main boss!

I have cooked a panoramic render, you will need a viewer to see it but you will have a better idea of the footprint and placement of components. Low res and no ceiling but if it is needed I can run a higher res version.
