... and it appears to have sold ! Seems utter madness to me. Think what else you could get for that money

The first owner clearly drove it 82 miles and came to the correct conclusion that it was shit and never drove it again. Why anyone would want £50k's worth of automotive excrement is beyond me.

I had two and while they were not an original mini, which I loved, they had interesting traits on the road. A bit like James Hunt enjoyed driving his A35 van because it was so bad that fun could be had at lower, license saving speeds.

I won several hillclimbs and sprints in a Hillman Imp, albeit not standard. The party piece was waving the inside front wheel about 6 inches off the ground. It was great fun. However £25K is a joke.

Imps were fantastic fun, even 875cc guise! Always lusted after a Davrian-bodied 1-litre version, but it wasn't to be.

Do you remember Harry Simpsons Davrian?

Do you remember Harry Simpsons Davrian? If it was yellow and blue, I think so - though my memory is nowhere near what it was!
Main memory jogger, and probably my favourite of all of the clubman cars, was Iain Forrest's Drambuie Imp. (Which was a Stiletto or a Californian, - can't remember which). Not a Davrian I know, but there used to be some epic battles among them all and my over-riding memory is of them coming line abrest into the grandstand with every inside front wheel up to six inches off the deck! Lovely stuff.

We probably sat in the Grandstand not far from each other at each race. On sunny days we would be at the top end of the circuit sitting on the grass with a picnic. Great memories!

Very possibly! My dad booked the same seats every season; in the main entrance to the grandstand, front row next to the first set of uprights at the "bend". Almost - but not quite - in line with the start line IIRC!

I cannot recall what they were sold for but quite a bit more than a mini. When I had mine I had very little reference knowledge to judge them by and loved going sideways on the all weather circuit. My first cost £50 and came with six months road tax but I sold it for £50 when I was done with it.
