On the way back from the stupor market, apart from the one Lotus 3Eleven, I have not seen a Lotus for ages. Nothing today either but I did see a Porsche Macan.

I saw a white McLaren 540 parked in a side street in Dundee City centre at lunchtime.
I only know it was a 540 because I checked the plate online!

Welcome to the world of Audi main stealership servicing costs. I was already acquainted. I exclaimed at the price and was told "Well your engine takes 7 litres of oil". My reply was that I wasn't really up for paying 40 quid a litre for it! The service was basically oil and pollen filter and a quick look over. Probably an hour's work tops.

This particular road is en route to absolutely nowhere and some distance from any major road, but they might have taken a scenic detour into Deepest Wales.

If they make it back I'll find out! I saw a 1988 Toyota Celica Cabrio at the local petrol station yesterday. It was very scabby and looking at the sills (the sill covers were missing!) I'm surprised it was still on the road as I don't think they were noted for their rigidity when new, let alone after 31 years of UK weather. Still, the old boy driving it seemed happy enough and I got a big grin when I gave him the thumbs up

Shouldn't think so Tim; Heysham, Liverpool or, at a pinch, Stranraer, are the ferry departure ports to the hallowed Isle! Shouldn't imagine he'll have enjoyed the weather - it's been chucking it down all week over there . .. ..

I should've said that he's based near Salisbury

I should've said that he's based near Salisbury Ha! Yes, might have helped! Doesn't change the ports though; no other ferry companies sail to the Island, it's only the Steam Racket and from those ports.

The only photo I've seen of his Atom so far is a grainy thing from when it ended up on its 'roof' in a field! Turns out they're pretty sturdy.

I saw an old Triumph at the weekend, too, but I'm not that into old cars that I could identify it further than that. I'm off to look up some pics of Triumphs.

Thanks to Wikipedia, it was a mk 1 GT6. I have always had a soft spot for those and for the TR6. I think it was the exhaust sound stood out as something silky, smooth and powerful, when I was a boy

Panamera and a smart sports car with the targa panel off in the stupor market. I still like the look of those, did they ever cure the gearbox before they went out of production?

I saw a new 8 series at lunchtime. It wasn't as big as I was expecting but the massive rear under-bumper doesn't do it any favours and in this case that wasn't helped by non-metallic grey paint.

Two McLarens recently. On the M5 on Wednesday a two tone metallic red and gold one (possibly the new GT) and then yesterday evening, another more normal coloured one on a narrow Cornish country lane.

On the way home last night I saw a Bedford TJ truck (they look like they're from the 1950s) and a few miles later I saw a Bedford HA van.

I was heading up through Dundee to collect my car after its service when a load of Dutch registered Lotuses (Lotii?) and a couple Caterhams of various ages went the other way. I think they must've taken a wrong turn because it was in a less salubrious part of the town!

I think they must've taken a wrong turn because it was in a less salubrious part of the town! They're a long way from home. Today on my way to work, on the local green across the road from the hospital it appears that a group of "Travellers" have arrive and set up camp. Lots of shiny new-looking supersized SUVs and mega-caravans...... Will be interesting to see what happens and how large the mess they leave behind is

Years ago when heading up the A9 (towing a race car to Wick) we were passed by a swarm of Dutch registered Caterhams - there must have been about 10 of them. We saw them a couple more times at various places as far North as Wick.

We've often seen them in modified Land Rover products (similar to Mark's Defender if you see what I mean) in places north of Inverness. I assume the Lotus mob from yesterday had arrived from Blairgowrie direction as they were on the continuation of that road once you've crossed the Kingsway.

On the M5 this afternoon an Alfa Romeo Montreal. Surprisingly having just checked "HowManyLeft", there were 46 licensed and 24 SORN'd at the end of 2018. I would have thought that there would have been far fewer

I was at the Fairmaont hotel near St Andrews yesterday evening and there were more Ferraris than you could shake a stick at. It appeared to be some sort of event for the Portofino but there were a few others I spotted, including 3 black FFs parked together and a yellow 458/488 that was sporting a colour coordinated Crooklok!
Weirdly the only one of them I saw in red was actually a maroon Portofino, all the rest were either dark blue/black or white.
