I've been looking at new Evoque's and particularly the petrol hybrid and also these...

I test drove a BMW ZM something or other many years ago but I can't remember which exact one. I thought it was awful and it rattled like a crate of empties. I didn't buy it. I remember that day, the dealership had loud music playing and balloons everywhere and the salesman seemed surprised that I didn't know that it was launch day for the new 3 Series. After I'd dismissed the Z thingy I had a quick look at a convertible 3 series with a metal roof and TBH I was tempted especially when the guy rang me later at home and said he could get me one PDQ. I was surprised they didn't have a waiting list. I declined but that was the closest I've come to buying a BMW.
I think of the two the more likely is the Evoque but then again I might stick to what I have. One thing that struck me looking at the build your own thingy on the LR site was that I couldn't specify the light interior that mine has. I really like the lighter interior as those grey and black ones just look so dark and depressing to me. Anyway. There are apparently two Evoque hybrids so I suppose I should read up on them.
I've taken to taking out the bottom of the rear seat when we go out now so we get a flatter space and can sit in the back to picnic more comfortably. I'm finding it a real fiddle to get out as it always seems to stick on one hook at the back. We had fish and chips in it today at Redcar, the weather was impressive.
Anyway. Just in case... any input on the BMW Z (it'd probably be an auto, I saw a lovely red one... that linked one isn't it) or the Evoque hybrids will be welcome
