As I/we might be able to go on holiday next year I've been thinking about home security. We have outside cctv and a house alarm but I've had to turn the notifications off as they're set off by insects and people or cars passing by and go off all the time especially at night when insects are attracted to the lights on the cameras. I therefore fancy something indoor which can be turned on when we go out and off when we get home, something which shouldn't end up sending pointless notifications so that if anyone breaks in we'll get notifications to a phone and hopefully a picture or even video of whatever caused the notification.
I thought I'd get two, one to point at the front door and one to point at the back.
Looking on line there are just a blizzard of products and of course negative reviews so I wondered if anyone here has something they could recommend or just as valuable something they'd recommend avoiding.
Thanks if anyone can help.

I set up some "Hubble" indoor CCTV cameras to check on Mum before we had to get her a full-time carer. Not sure if you can still get them. There is also "Tapu" who do a similar thing

We have some EZViz from Argos. They seem to work well.

I have Blink cameras which are a slightly cheaper alternative to ring but do the job with no complaints.
Notifications, auto recording of clips, two way audio etc.
I have the external cameras but only needed to use two of those so use the 3rd for indoor use when we go away.
I don’t subscribe to the cloud service but do have a USB storage connected that saves the clips locally and can be accessed remotely.
Does the job, good quality and I thought a reasonable price (in the Amazon deals/prime day which I think has just ended again!)

Ultimately ....... at the moment what are you likely to be able to achieve if you get a notification while you are away? If you call the local Police, aren't they just likely to give youa crime number and tell you to claim in your insurance because this seems to sadly be the norm these days. Unless you have a strong neighbour on hand who you can phone to go round and immediately apprehend the perpetrators, I think that all remote cameras may be able to do is give you notice that you will be returning to a house that has been burgled

As the house has never been left empty for years I am a bit nervous so I have asked a neighbour and they are willing to keep an eye on the place. I do realise that I can't do much from Thailand but I could be going away for a month and if I'm made aware that someone has kicked the door in I can do something over the phone rather than leave the house open for a month until I get back.
As above, I can't rely on notifications from the cctv as there's a blizzard of them night and day and the house alarm as it is goes off and makes the usual awful noise but doesn't send a notification to my phone so what I'm looking for is a notification if there really is movement in the house while I'm away. If there is at least I could be able to see what's happened and do something over the phone such as ask my neighbour to get someone in to secure the place.
