I need to stop myself before careering headlong down the slippery slope of watch enthusiasm... I've just ordered a quirky-looking watch from a US microbrand and am strongly considering ordering a much more elegant offering from an English microbrand. All quartz rather than mechanical, but easier to justify the expenditure (to myself) as a consequence. The watches in question are a LIV Rebel DDC Chrono and a Farer Frobisher II: www.livwatches.com/collections/rebel-ddcfarer.com/products/frobisher-2To all you watch fans: how many is enough? I'm thinking maybe five?

I've got (after a quick tot up) 6 watches, two of which I wear regularly, one never and the others when a blue moon comes round.
In reality I should get rid of two of them because they are still worth money and are never used. Two others are basically worthless so it doesn't matter that they are not or are seldom worn and the two which are worn are my Omega and my Citizen Eco.

I’ve got four or five.
Garmin Fenix 5 - worn all the time. Sector - given to me by my dad when I was 18 so it’s staying. I wear it occasionally. Raymond Weil. Very slim so wear this occasionally on posh nights out. Boss - not with selling - wear rarely. DKNY - cheap and never wear.
I’ve also got an old Casio digital thing I just have when I was a teenager and a couple of Swatches and Sekonda plastic things.
I would really like another EcoDrive. I sold my Fitbit and Apple Watch.

I don’t wear a watch but would love a Monaco - and it would be to keep and only wear occasionally . That Liv Rebel (Classic black) looks great and if i did wear a watch every day that’s what I’d have . I also like Christopher ward , and find Myself looking In their clearance section probably too much. love this, and a great price : www.christopherward.co.uk/events/jansale2019/half-price/c8-flyer-quartz-d8fb2a

Andy - I was looking at Christopher Ward as well, and the same clearance section! I like the one you've linked to above, but I think it's a bit too big for my wrist. The LIV is pretty big at 42mm and with quite a chunky height. I have ordered the very last blue one they had and it should be delivered in about a week from now I'm 95% certain I'll add the Farer. They do some very nice automatic chronographs too, I particularly like the Segrave. That and a Monaco... one day maybe!

I think I am at eight at the moment, but two get the majority of the wear, two are occasional and a fifth is for proper outdoorsy stuff i.e. it has a compass and I am not bothered about its exposure to the worst that the elements might throw at it. A sixth is slightly damaged and should be ditched.

Well I have now ordered the Farer, making three new watches this January, plus the two I already had. Looking forward to the two new ones arriving. Better stop now for a while - perhaps a watch box next!

I really like the Liv one with the black face and orange highlights!
I think I've got 12 watches in total, I currently wear 3 on a fairly constant rotation (!), another 2 occasionally - they're Seiko Kinetics and I need to wear them to keep them charged - and the rest are ornaments and not really worth anything.
Like Racing I have pretty girly wrists but have got accustomed to wearing larger watches (such as the Suunto Core) now to the extent that the 2 Seikos look tiny and a bit odd.
One of my mates has a watch box with 24 spaces and it's full......

I've got 3; an Omega Planet Ocean which I've worn pretty much every day for the last 11 years, an Indian watch from a Tata subsidiary, Titan. A mate an I did some marketing work for them years ago and when he visited India he brought it back. I also have a £5.99 Casio for wearing in Brazil. Because they kill you for a watch there.

I have one watch and it will stay that way. When it dies or I lose it I'll get another one.

Better solution: Don't go to Brazil It's a great place, apart from the obvious sight seeing, the nightlife is great. It's just when you stumble out of a Samba club in Old Town Rio and go looking for a taxi you feel less conspicuous with your old Casio than something worth mugging you for.

But just spunked a large sum on a new CD player, so it's a 'no' for now, at least...

Either that or everyone who's bought one and put their photo up is some kind of skinny racing snake!

Well my LIV Rebel arrived today and I really like it. I've got quite small wrists, but the watch doesn't overwhelm with its proportions and it sits really nicely and feels instantly comfortable. It's weighty and chunky, but it seems really well made. Mine has a rubber strap and this is well made too. The packaging is good as well. Definitely a thumbs up from me.
The Farer Frobisher II arrived yesterday and this is an absolute stunner in my opinion. My favourite of the three I have bought. It's both elegant and bold at the same time. The packaging is very premium and extremely impressive. I know it must bump up the price, but it's very smart. If I had received this watch as a gift, I would have been extremely appreciative!
Overall my three new watches (Roue, LIV, Farer) have cost about £800 in total. While it's not an inconsiderable sum of money to shell out, I think I've chosen three interesting, different and quirky watches that will give me many years of pleasure. Happy days!

Not looked at the Roue, but of the two you linked to my preference is the LIV, with the orange face. Not awfully keen on the Farer for some reason; the orange strap in the link really doesn't 'do it' for me and the blue, while smart looking, is a bit .. sedate? I've already got sedate watches, so the LIV in orange would be a nice addition to my collection.

I've got a Chris Ward which is basically a Submariner copy that I purchased about 6 years ago for not a huge amount but it seems CW watches have crept up in price. I have been talking about buying a Panerai for years but having had a kid the thought of spending big money on a watch just seems daft therefore I'm looking at a halfway house and a used Chopard Mille Miglia seems the best option.

Well I've just ordered two more Another Roue (HDS One), and something from a different category of watch for my selection of five new ones - a Seiko SKX013 Diver's watch, relatively small case size which suits me better than a bigger one would. www.citywatches.co.uk/product/seiko-automatic-skx013k1-ms1-divers-200m-black-leather-strap-mens-watch/Both relatively inexpensive (I'm telling myself, at least). That had better be it for now - otherwise it's a slippery slope that may end in a Farer Hecla and a Farer Segrave!

^ Looks like a good price for the Seiko. I like the style of diver's watches... got a cheap Sekonda one a few months back on offer. It has a stainless steel band strap.... must be a special grade of Russian stainless steel because I don't think I have ever come across stainless steel so light in weight ! I did wonder at first if it was coated plastic

I’ve been a fan of Christopher Ward for many years ever since I was given one as an Xmas present.
It was a Malvern something or other and for the price the style, quality and presentation was simply outstanding.
I believe it cost £135 which highlights how the prices have increased in the past 10 years or so but I like their approach.
Not a fan of the Roue shown but really like some of the Farer ones.
One day, once I’m in a position to do so, I’ll get myself a nice ‘special occasion’ watch - enjoy this thread.

It was only while I was looking for a bike last year. I think it's an offshoot of Giant.
