A year on from the dirty and tired Ibiza loan car whilst the Captur was being serviced, this year it was a 64-plate Fiesta 1.25 3-door in white. Quite a contrast to my 1.0 ecoboost Fiesta, despite being only 1 year older, the loan car hasd no Bluetooth, so no way of pairing a phone or anything else to the car. I was really surprised in a bad way that such an essential feature was missing. This was a low-spec model with steel wheels, and with the basic Nokia-inspired audio set-up. It had aircon and central locking but no power-folding mirrors, remote central locking but not keyless so you had to use the key in the ignition to start and stop the engine.
Handling, as expected, was the same as mine but the engine was lacking in response (c. 55k miles) and never felt any urgency about its work. Interestingly I really noticed the less plush steering wheel and hard plastic handbrake lever instead of the leather (or is it fake leather?) in mine. it also came with squeaky windscreen wipers......

Says it all really, on a nine/ten year old car! My 67'plate F11 doesn't have folding mirrors either, or at least not that I've managed to work out yet anyway. Not a biggie though ... .. .

I can't remember when the "nokia-facia" Fiesta came out, but I had one as a loan car soon after they did and was really shocked by how low rent the interior was and how tinny it felt. Which is odd as I'd had previous generation Fiestas as loaners or hire cars and really rated them. Maybe Ford cost-cut too far?

Waaay back when we were looking to replace Herself's 2003 Fiesta we looked at the Nokia dash Fiesta and walked away. Even in Titanium trim the interior was not pleasant. That was when we bought our first MINI and we have never looked back.
