Good prices, but not worth queuing for. My nearest Costco is MK and I drive past it fairly regularly, but it doesn’t have fuel.

Lately the queues have been ludicrous They have reorganised the carpark so it doesn't back up onto the A52 in Derby anymore. The queues look dramatic but the pumps are wide so it rarely takes more than 10mins, if it looks bad I go get my shopping and try again Can't afford to miss that saving for waiting a few minutes...... usually offset by in-store purchases🤣🤣

I think my nearest Costco with fuel is in Edinburgh so really not worth the mileage.
Diesel in St Andrews was 186p but at my local Tesco it was 175.

St Andrews fuel prices are ridiculous at the Shell station. I only ever put in the minimum I (or my daughter) needs to get home.

I was at Morrisons as well yesterday but forgot to check because the signboard is nowhere near the station! I always forget the garage in Dairsie but recently it's been as cheap as Tesco.
Prices for many things in St Andrews are ridiculous.

Ours was down to 172 last night, with the Blair one being 175 - the usual disparity has resumed, from the 6ppl difference the other way a couple of weeks ago!

Petrol down to 134.9 and diesel 154.9 here now Wow that is cheap. I was quite chuffed to get a tankful of petrol at 149.9 in Suffolk on Sunday. Here in west London, our local stations are still around the 157.9 mark.

[ The nearby competitor which is generally about 6 or 7p more is now also down to 134.9 so interested to see if the cheaper place will now get below £1.30

Next door to the office Esso are at 151.9 for petrol and 176.9 for diesel. The shell station just over half a mile away is at 157.9 for petrol and 181.9 for diesel

(Can't remember) Will be passing Costco shortly, so will have a look at theirs.

I filled up with the expensive diesel yesterday for the first time since I got the car. €1.77 a litre. Petrol is down to around €1.55 now for the cheap stuff and €1.60 for the expensive stuff. That’s 25% cheaper than it was a few months ago.

Talk is that there's a 12p duty rise coming in the spring.

Talk is that there's a 12p duty rise coming in the spring. No doubt sold to the public as the environmentally correct thing to do - price people out of their cars when they can hardly afford food or heat!

I've read in a few places that reducing car park spaces will be the next torture inflicted on motorists.

I've read in a few places that reducing car park spaces will be the next torture inflicted on motorists. They have done that in Glasgow and people now shop elsewhere. Unless we become a Police state where travel is not allowed or "Beam me up Scotty" technology makes an appearance, trying to stop people's movements by personal transport will never work.

Reducing car parking spaces will mostly be in town and city centeres where, the effect will be the destruction of local businesses. This will reduce the business rates collected by councils and increase the burden on homes.
So which particular Turkey is voting for that.

I've read in a few places that reducing car park spaces will be the next torture inflicted on motorists. Labour started that with setting planning rules for new housing that only allowed for an average of 1.5 parking spaces per house. And you wonder why newer housing estates are littered with parked cars making the roads into a slalom course.

Cars are littered everywhere due to insufficient parking

Our old house only had one parking space due to those stupid regulations so I just made another 2 car driveway at the other side (and we only bought the house on the basis that this was possible).

The house we just bought has 2 spaces, anything built in the estate with 3 bedrooms or fewer only has one. The town I’m living in just had a huge push by the council to remove on street parking. There was less parking available than the councils own rules stipulated so they got huge pushback and didn’t proceed with it. Interesting that even in a different country, the push is the same. It’s almost as if there’s an agenda…

Every house where we live has at least 2 spaces, but the problem is some of them are one behind the other and most are behind the houses. I assume the plan was for cars to be hidden out of the way and that would look great, but in reality quite a few people are too lazy to do that and park on the road outside. I'd guess at 50% having a garage, but in the houses around mine, there's only us and a guy with a McLaren that use it, helped by us both having decent double garages. The other half of mine is filled with bikes, storage etc, but I don't think mine would fit in there anyway.

At the moment I have one car in the garage and two in the drive. The most we've had at one time is four.

The grandson of the neighbour was looking at buying new on a large development. No parking by any of the homes but there is parking. £3k PA per space. Homes sold, spaces, leased. Cash now part next.

This kind of development should be outlawed - is this just another way to get around the leasehold issues?

We need 5 spaces - had to buy the house next door to get that!
(that's an exaggeration - my brothers and I bought it for my Mum to live in, but very handy for its 3 car wide driveway)
