Needless to say I would be right at the front of the queue for one of these if funds and marital harmony allowed.
Alvis has always been a favourite of mine. The 1920s cars are considered to be right up there with Bentley and proper Vaxhalls as the perfect VSCC car.

I think Octane did a piece on these recently.

I always loved Alvis a youngster. There was one parked up in a garage near Hindhead in the '70s that I'd see on Monday's on the drive up to school. Very elegant and un-showy.

When I was a boy growing up, a neighbour of ours had the Alvis coupe and also a Bristol in his garage. Unfortunately living by the sea and roads being salted meant that they didn't last very long before requiring new panels etc. When they moved, the Alvis was taken away on a trailer and I have no idea what happened to the Bristol.

The old man had an Alvis speed 25 with a cross and Ellis body. Thing went like stink for a late 30’s machine. Crushing at 80 mph plus was genuinely realistic. A handsome beast as well www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1106520Edited as I thought I’d look at Alvis after responding and I’m sure this is the old car although the wings have been painted black recently
