Apparently MS Azure is down for the whole of western Europe. No idea if it is a technical glitch or if someone has hacked in to it but it means that our secure portal to send and receive documents no longer works.
Since we have had our hands tied behind our backs by GDPR any personal information must be sent through the portal even though our e-mail is also TLS encrypted.
No-one can tell us how long it will take until it will be back up which just shows how fragile the business world we live in really is. I am sure there will be many businesses much bigger than us who are crippled today.

My workplace is, but as I am on holiday the other side of the world, it won't affect me :-)

I'm reliant on Azure for part of my company-wide data warehouse (which I am responsible for)) as the means of getting non-systemised data into the main data warehouse (which is in Google BigQuery). I'll see if anything has changed in the morning - we pull data in on daily loads, rather than in real time.

It appeared to come back on yesterday afternoon but not at full speed or capacity. Fingers crossed we can get it working properly today.
