Don't think we've played this in a while, but partly inspired by Racing's thread and my drive in the Alpine.
If you were to assemble your dream garage from what's currently available brand new right now, what would you have?
For me it would be:
Fun Car: Alpine A110 Everyday Driver: VW Golf GTI Long Distance Cruiser: Kia Stinger V6 Night Out in Town: BMW M2
Probably a Mazda MX-5 too if I want to enjoy convertible driving, but I could live with or without it TBH.

Honestly, not much. Maybe a Skoda Superb estate or a Volvo V60 in whatever is the sportiest, diesellyist spec.

Good shouts, Andy. I'd go Taycan and Stelvio QF from your four options.

Huracan Performante - engines like this won't be around for long. Tesla Model S in fastest spec. Can't live with the Alpine's looks, so a suitable Elise/Exige. RS6 for carting stuff about. And another car's worth of money to take everything about my car back to being genuinely as good as new.

Caterham 620R I'll keep the M5 for supercar performance mixed with luxury car comfort. Something utilitarian like a Ford Ranger for trips to the dump and bikes in the back A Boxter GT4 Spyder or maybe just a Boxster GTS for sunny days out A Golf R or an A45S for smaller, practical hatch

I'd get:
Some sort of AWD camper for the weekend car meets Next gen RS3 for everyday use (I'll have to wait a bit for this one) Something sportier like a Lotus Evora (a Porsche is too obvious) A Bentley Continental for longer drives so me teeth stay put.

I’d probably give a different answer tomorrow, but current list:
Golf R 718 Boxster Spyder Continental GT (poss Taycan, need to see one) FF Range Rover 488 Spyder

Hmm...
The new 718 Boxster Spyder sounds epic, so one of those would kick things off nicely. Then an Alpina B5S Touring would be perfect for times when practicality’s called for. For nipping about town, I’d like a fully-trimmed Mini Cooper JCW. For cruising in sheer sumptuous comfort, the new Bentley Continental albeit with the V8 rather than the W12. Then at the sheer posey end of things, the new Ferrari SF90 Stradale looks pretty epic, so we’ll have one of those. In Verde Silverstone.

I forgot a wafter and agree the Benti Conti would be a good choice. I thought it was an ugly beast when it came out but it has grown on me since.

I'd be quite happy to keep the Fiesta for a town/city car and my daily commute TBH... it almost doubles up as a low-powered sports car when the mood arises A Mustang V-8 Hardtop, maybe in the latest Bullett edition, just because.
XC60 AWD for those days when snow gets the better of road surfaces
That leaves a vehicle for "grand touring" and DIY runs. if Bentley did an estate.... if BMW did an M5 Touring/Estate..... The XC60 would almost certainly double up for now as I can't think of anything else suitable

Blimey Chris, an XC60 and a Fiesta. Wish I was so easily pleased. I've never really wanted a hugely expensive car and as I approach retirement I suppose I'm more easily pleased. I don't do long journeys where a limo (or large "executive" car would be a nice option) and modern cars are amazingly refined compared to the "everyday" stuff that was on the roads when I passed my test. I couldn't fit a 7-series in my garage and I don't think that a current 5-series would fit .... 4.7m is the upper length limit in general terms. My Galaxy was 4661mm long and that just fitted in, not sure of the nominal length of mum's (now daughter's) V70 but that just fits... If I were to clear my workbench from the end of the garage (which I won't) that would add another 2 feet whatever that is in mm. A 911 or similar would be wasted on me, I just wouldn't get to drive it enough even if money were no object.

I'm assuming that, if I could afford the above dream garage, I'd also have the lifestyle to match and could therefore also afford the time to drive them...
After all, post-Euromillions lottery win, there would definitely be lifestyle changes to make!!!

Discovery 5 commercial in HSE all bells and whistles spec for carting the dogs to the beach. Range Rover for the daily driving Suzuki Jimny for tooling around the estate (I'm assuming the dream garage has land) VW California would be very useful as a temporary base when kayaking or making the most of my active lifestyle. Ferrari F8 Tributo as it's the first Ferrari I've really liked the look of in along time. I'd want an Alpina, too. I'd likely wait for the B3 Touring though and hope they've managed to improve the looks.

I'd definitely take a LR Defender once they are out - probably in SWB commercial spec but with suitable FG added. I'd swap the XFR for an XJR but they've stopped making those, so the XFR stays. A FF RR or RRS Like racing I'd go for a new Mini JCW for town, or maybe the new electric Mini once it is out.
And my garage would then include some new plant too - newer tractor, telehandler/loader, lots of machinery to play with.

Something that I spend a bit of time thinking about, if only the right numbers would fall out of the lottery machine.
Golf GTI, 5 door in Black. McLaren 720s in orange. BMW X5 in a subtle colour. Ferrari 812 superfast in red (Obviously). And a Porsche is silver.
Should probably have got Mrs C something, but she likes her UP.

Blimey Chris, an XC60 and a Fiesta. Wish I was so easily pleased. To be fair they are quite nice. If I absolutely have to have an SUV, I would pick a Volvo too.

I think I may get lynched for this but I think as an every day use car I'd now go for a fast hybrid car even if its range was limited, a Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid would be very high on my list (looking forward to the Toucan, Tiecan Taycan whatever it's called). The Panamera ticks every box for me and with the added bonus of some emission free electric town/city motoring even more attractive, so a Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid would be first on my list Next would come some GT luxury in the shape of the Continental GT. I just cannot imagine a nicer place to be, that interior is just exquisite though I'll get my first look at the new McLaren GT at Blenheim Palace show very soon so I want to see if that could be a direct competitor. I want some space for the family and to store all our gear when we go away...so a large fast diesel estate or SUV should do nicely. An Audi S6 Avant with a torque laden powerful engine will suffice but I do very like a RR Velar, i think I'd plump for the Velar for it's interior and raised driving position. For fun, I'd love to a Countach, though probably not the most sensible car to weave through traffic, but I just adore them. Despite how (very) good they are I wouldn't go for an Alpine A110 I'd go for the M2 Competition. Every time I see one at C&M I swoon, perfectly proportioned, harks back to the E30 era in size, masses of power, they sound great too. M2 for me in the new coupe category. Just to look at and not drive regularly I'd search for the very best BMW M635 CSi. I saw this advert and I am already wondering if a kidney is worth enough www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1115001 and another Bavarian beauty tops my all time swoon list, the exquisite BMW 507, add in an Aston Martin Vantage V600 or similar from the mid/late 90's and you have my perfect multi millionaire garage So there we have it. Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Bentley Continental GT Range Rover Velar BMW M2 Competition Lamborghini Countach BMW 635 CSi BMW 507 Aston Martin Vantage v600 (90's model)

I initially put the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid (in estate-thingy guise) on my short-list, but having poked about one, it's not that practical, so I kicked it off in favour of the more spacious Alpina, which I do like very much.

Am I allowed to keep my current fleet and add 5 new cars/vehicles to that? Is your new house going to have a big garage and an even bigger drive? Since this is fantasy, I reckon you can have anything you want!

Since this is fantasy, I reckon you can have anything you want! Ha, the way the housing market is at the moment I think I'm staying put for at least another couple of years! Day to Day - 340i touring (F31 shape) that'd hit every branch of the option tree. I'd like another 370Z in Nismo flavour I'd probably take a Nissan GT-R as well. Lambo Ovendoor for short blasts, purely to listen to the engine. Some sort of proper 4x4 estate thing like a Toyota Landcruiser but less ugly!
