I was at an event in Glasgow yesterday where Williams Advanced Engineering (a spin off from the FI Team business) were talking about a company that had approached them with the idea of fitting aerofoils onto fridges - which seemed mad but had turned out to be a genius idea. By controlling the flow of cold air on supermarket refrigerators a saving of 30% on electricity costs can be achieved and the "cold" aisles are generally about 4 deg warmer. Easy to fit and practically invisible that are now popping up on fridges all over. I'm going to look out for them now. / www.aerofoil-energy.co.uk/As an aside; apparently the front wing of a F1 car takes, on average, 2000 hours to design and build and has a life span of 7 weeks or two races before needing to be redesigned and built again.

I thought this was going to be a comment on the aero addenda specifically fitted to white Merc AMG A45s......
I think in the modern era the open fronted fridges should be banned along with the open lower bits of the freezer sections.

I think they've been around a while but nobody knew what they were - now we all know I'll specifically look out for them.
Real energy savings come through technology - not beating people up to use less.
