Yes, I think so. The 6 cylinder engine will not be fitted to the next 1 Series but they have to keep up somehow.

Liking the look of the AMG A35 as me next wheels. I have a feeling the 1-whateverit'llbecallednumbertodecided will arrive too late to the party that will be my next car shopping expedition... Hopefully it will be available without the ‘Aero Kit’ that is on the recent pics and it won’t sound or ride like the current A45. First test drive I’ve had when I took a shortcut to get back to the dealership quicker.

From reading reports on the updated C43 and C63, the new CLS53 and E53, it would appear that Mercedes have worked hard on giving the cars a better ride quality. I assume the A35 will be the same.
The non Panamerica grill C63 I drove recently was, when I was honest with myself, too hard for our crap roads - I would spend all my time avoiding any kind of imperfection in the surface. Apart from the fairly old infotainment system, considerably smaller back seat area and boot (compared to my car) and the ride, I liked everything else.

I had the same issue with the ride on the E63S, which wasn’t helped by the seats. I understand the standard car on small wheels with normal seats is better, but I doubt it would be good enough for the majority of the driving I do. The standard car comes with a vinyl dash as well, which isn’t right given the price, but not a complete deal breaker.
