Mine must do it automatically, I've never had to do it.

Oh right, that would be irritating. I have freesat and simply put the postcode into the box and it does the rest.

I have had to do this too, but not as often. Four times since October 2016.

Freesat is free of this issue. But alas it is having some issues with HD. No C4HD at the mo because of a cost dispute

What is the advantage of Freesat over Freeview? Pros: more channels. Cons: needs a satellite dish.

My TV has both and Freesat picture quality is very slightly better. It should also have greater capacity to carry HD channels, but the commercial arrangement isn't working as might be hoped at the moment. My HDD is Freesat, so stuff recorded from C4 is in SD. Horror of horrors...

As long as I can get the Light Programme and the Home Service I'm happy.

It’s becoming a nonsense anyway. My sons largely watch streaming stuff and the girls favourite shows recorded on the hard drive from Virgin Media. I watch MotoGP on their feed which leaves some F1 and comedy shows. The retune thing is indeed wanky but a first world problem.

With Sky looking to ditch satellites I can see freesat slowly dying a death. We stream most programmes we don’t catch live and haven’t had need of a recording device for some years. It does occasionally mean we miss programmes if we don’t watch them before they go offline but tbh it’s usually because we don’t miss them and have moved on to something else. Most stuff we watch is on freeview but we have Netflix and Now TV which combined is still cheaper than a Sky subscription!
