Plus the Commonwealth is now effectively a trade organisation, there are several African countries who are members that were never part of the Empire (I want to say Mozambique but I'm too much of a 'lazy arse' to Google it  |

My Uncle tells the story that the closest he ever got to armed combat in the Paras was when he was the highest ranking soldier on site at the barracks in Cyprus when the Turks invaded.
The Turks approached the base and told him that it might be of interest to stay inside until the fighting had ceased and which they gladly remained.
