I love the Stratos and if a big Euro millions came up I might be persuaded but you'd really have to have mental money to spend over £0.5m on a car, considering the more mainstream Ferrari/Porsche/McLaren/Aston alternatives which come with a large bag of cash as change.

The 542bhp, 383lb ft reborn Stratos will be displayed at the Geneva motor show, and is based on the Ferrari F430.
Well that's different I suppose. Whilst most people take an MR2 or some such and try to make it look like a Ferrari, this lot take a Ferrari and try to make it look like a Lancia.

Still, if I had the money I would. I remember seeing it launched at Geneva and liking it a lot.

If I was in the market for this type of ‘toy’ i still think I’d get the Lister Bell STR which looks authentic and is apparently a fantastic steer. And, at £40k the money saved could buy a few Ferrari’s / Porsche’s / Lambo / McLarens to pair it with.

Agreed, I doubt the donor car would be accepted if it was a write-off so a second hand car at the very least and they are not exactly in every second hand dealers.
