I like the Alpina.
It's funny reading it and remembering that 210BHP was fairly recently a significant level of power.

German isn't a poetic language, either on the page or in the ear, is it?

I'm sure Lessing, Goethe, Uhland, Schiller etc. may disagree *edit: I only know the names of German poets because we lived in the poets corner of our town Gevelsberg when in Germany, so the roads were names after these individuals.

Yes, until the late 19th century Germany styled itself as the romantic land of poets. Then they said fuck this let's start making tanks and making unannounced visits to the neighbours.

I didn't say that there weren't German poets, merely observed that they would have been fighting with one hand firmly tied behind their backs!

I bet that Senator goes like a privvy door when the plague's in town. 270 is nothing to be sniffed at nowadays, let alone in 1991.

Considering the weight of these vehicles it is considerable power and torque being sent to the rear wheels. I am waiting for more details on the Gordon Murray sports car. A three cylinder turbo with about 150bhp and extremely low weight sounds really good to me.

A Senator back then would probably have weighed 1500 Kgs max, which is pretty much a Ford Focus nowadays and a 270 Bhp Focus would be plenty quick enough.

Anyway, for me anyof those would be nice things to have.

Those make more sense and fun than any lardy bloated vehicle even with 150bhp and 750-850kg. Perhaps it is just me but without going completely mental there can be lots of fun had.
