.....when you’re looking at new ones.
Stopped for petrol on the way in. Pulled away after gearbox was decidedly reticent to select gears. Swore a bit, pulled over. Nothing external so rode home. Called in to WFH.
On the way home worked out the sequential shift wasn’t returning to centre so had to nudge lever to make it: a lot of missed changes on the way home. Centre return spring. Just dropped it with my chap to hopefully do it. Only if the spring set up is in the gear box will he not: too long a job for his other clients. Looking at it though I think when the clutch cover comes off the swapper just slides out.
As I can still ride it and change gear deffo a non breakdown.
Now the thing about “knowing”. I’ve looked at the ‘17 Blade in various pictures and articles but can’t decide if I like it. Struggling to see a live one as big sportsbikes are passé these days as most middle aged return-to or new bikers want fucking off road “adventure” bikes because they saw one on the TV once. However last night I chatted to and rode home with a red ‘17 Blade owner with tail tidy and aftermarket pipe. Looks a zillion times better in the aluminium than in any picture so mind made up. Then discovered Crescent are selling unregistered ones with aftermarket pipe and tail tidy....
Like I said my R1 knew and threw a wobbly on me. It’s still prettier than the new Blade but it’s a decade old now.......

You're talking about a bike and not the car then? As you're talking about a bike I don't care, they leave me stone cold.

Most modern bikes and riders have the same effect on me as a rider of 33 years experience.
