I saw a Polestar 2 on Monday. I saw one drive past yesterday too in Wandsworth. They just look like a regular Volvo saloon but with raised suspension.

They did an S60 cross country. It sold as well as you’d think it would.

It sort of reminded me of the Merc GLA - ride height of a small SUV but with a 6 inch roof chop making it look a little squashed.

Tesla Roadster (Elise based), a couple of weeks ago.
Now, that's a rare beast.

Tesla Roadster (Elise based), a couple of weeks ago. Now, that's a rare beast. I've only seen one and it was stuck in traffic on Grays Inn Road. I saw one of the Harry's Garage videos where he was at Silverstone Auctions and they had one in. He mentioned it needed to be kept on charge when not being used for a few days as they become unmovable if the batteries drain.

Given it was early morning on my commute and local roads I assume it must have been a local car, not seen it before though, the only other time I've seen one was a red one, years ago before Tesla became relatively mainstream with the Model S.

I've just seen a very worried looking young girl on the phone standing beside a new model A1 with the front wheel buried in the footwell and the bonnet popped up at the windscreen end. No idea what she hit (the kerb or a monumental pothole?) but that car is going to need some major attention.

No idea what she hit (the kerb or a monumental pothole?) but that car is going to need some major attention. Some truly terrifying potholes have emerged all over the city in recent weeks. Travel info on the radio during last weeks snow referenced a number of cars with burst tyres after hitting a huge hole at the M73/74 interchange.

I've reported 5 potholes already on my short commute. Every day another one seems to appear. However if they just resurfaced the whole road instead of making it a patchwork quilt it might last much much longer. There was a big hole on the M8 westbound between Glasgow airport and the Erskine bridge which I luckily saw in time and avoided last week but there are plenty of poor surface sections which the authorities are just ignoring - they are supposed to monitor all main A roads and motorways but that quite clearly doesn't happen (or is just conveniently forgotten about)

Thanks for that reminder John, just been on the Fife council website to report some potholes (that doesn't do them justice) that have appeared on the road past my house. Sadly as it's a 'Q' road it probably never gets inspected.

If any of you watched The Long Way Up, you’ll recognize this, even if it’s got camouflage on it. Rivian pickup truck. Rare sight.

Unusual to see a camo pickup that's not festooned with Trump 2020 and US flags!

Unusual to see a camo pickup that's not festooned with Trump 2020 and US flags! Indeed, the staff who were working on the truck were watching us when we slowed and took photos. Don’t think they were too impressed! There’s not many Trump fans in Silicon Valley anyway, they’re all Democrats here.

I think I saw a VW ID something, presumably a 3, yesterday evening. It was dark and the car was going the other way.

Considering I’ve worked in the Tesla HQ and both of the factories in the Bay Area, I’ve only seen about 4 of them in the past couple of years. Rare beast indeed.

Forgot that last week I followed a late model Mazda RX-7. Still a lovely looking car but haven't seen one for years.

Ferrari 458, McLaren P1 and a Mazda MX5 with the biggest spoiler I’ve seen on the back.

Also saw a Lamborghini Huracan, making a lot of noise as it accelerated. Silicon Valley is busier now and all the fancy cars are out again.

BMW I8, not a very common sight here. Also saw and RS5 that pulled away from us as we joined a highway, and we caught 20 minutes later, after driving for good lengths of the highway at 90mph. I don’t know how fast he was driving that it took us so long to catch him.

This may be more suited to the villains thread, but I was unfortunate enough to be behind a 56-plate A4 Avant this morning which had the centre box of the exhaust dragging on the road. Hanging from the rear! It didn't stop the guy proceeding at normal pace down the slip road onto the M80, though he did keep the speed down .. .. to 70!!! Not many sparks though despite the noise, which I found a bit odd.

It occurred to me when I was out just there, with all the potholes drivers are required to dodge round here he'll be lucky if the exhaust remains attached - and most of the rear end with it!!
