Yesterday on the way to the stupor store, a gaggle of about a dozen cyclists's riding in a peleton with nowhere to overtake them. What an ignorant bunch of parent less 'tards.

Spotted today a '440i' GC with one blackened tailpipe and one clean and apparently unused tailpipe.

Had a group of 4 last week through the village. I was behind them on my way to work. I know they are advised to ride 2 abreast but this group could easily have dropped into single file so cars could pass but at one point they were even riding 4 abreast. I left dieselly carbons when I could finally pass.

On the Golf, all 4 pipes are real but the outer pair only kick into action when you’re in Race mode or the gearbox is in Sport if it’s a DSG. The 750 has the optional M Sport Exhaust, Sport mode or just going past 3,000rpm in any mode brings that to life. It has 4 pipes but they’re pretty much hidden and I’m not sure whether they are all open all the time or not.

The diesel VRS has only one pipe, the other being fake. I think the petrol has 2.

Followed an enthusiastically driven '95 Volvo 480 yesterday - I can't remember the last time I saw one.

Yesterday, amongst many other niceties in Bristol, saw my first Urus. It was in grey, with brown leater seats and it looked really rather good in that subtle combo. Even had a towbar. And it sounded lovely. I didn't dislike it at all.

The other car that really stood out for me was a rare dark green F355 Berlinetta with black carbon backed seats, tan leather and green carpet. It was from an era of lower but accessible performance and a smaller size and, with just a nice patina of wear, looked just lovely.

I've seen a couple of those Hyundai N30 hot hatches recently, sadly only in town. They sound quite good for a modern 4 pot though.

Metallic green roof and a purple furry interior! Mercury Maquis Brougham. Similar to that in Uncle Buck, but this is a ‘72 car after a quick google. Uncle Buck’s was a ‘75 Coupe.

The other main USAF base I'm aware of is Fairford, but I'm not sure what type of aircraft they have there still. Used to be B-52's, and I think they had 'pencilled in' B-2's, but think they've arrived yet.
