That SVR redefines automotive chavvery.
Apart from that, I am struggling to see the difference.

I think they've added a lot of extra 'styling' lines across the rear end!

Judging by the blue one I've just seen with the git plate V8 SVR, I think you're right.

Vulgar, just like everything else they make.
Why do Range Rovers have Land Rover badges as well? Is its full name a Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR?! Retarded.

They're only doing the same as everyone else. I'm sure a mag tested an X3 Xdrive 30d XLine MSport Plus (there may have been more!) recently. It's like a tongue twister.

Wouldn't it be nice to buy an SVR in a Holland and Holland spec, surely not all wealthy Rangie buyers want something that looks like a tarts boudoir.

Pressumably give SVO enough money and you can have what you like.

Has that tit Mansory been advising them? Ghastly carbon fibre.
Regular looks ok and interior is very very nice but that rear is awwwwwful. What's with the overstyled lower rear section, fake venturi or whatever you want to call it. I think that looks shit

I suspect they have seen what Project Khav does to their products and concluded that the cash might as well come their way.

I had a look at the price list last night and the SVR has a painted carbon bonnet as standard, if you want it to look like the press shots (no idea why), then you need to spend £6,225 on the carbon pack with exposed bonnet. Bonkers.
I think the standard car is an improvement, especially inside.

I must admit to wondering why Audi was charging less for the RWD R8 it is to make in small-ish numbers. I know that on the face of it there's less car so should be less cost, but that's definitely not the modern way...

I look at the simple rear view of my E39 5 Series and Fiat Coupe and wonder when the crayon wielders got so much freedom to keep going beyond the tasteful point.

Yes, it attracts some pretty chavvy colour schemes and owners, but that's not the car's fault.

I could take an SVR in a subtle colour scheme, just for that engine and the performance. The prices are eye watering. Although perhaps I shouldn't be surprised, seeing the prices in print makes me cringe. 60k for the entry level 4 cylinder diesel and nearly 71k for the hybrid. A whisker under 100k for the SVR.

What's wrong with me..... which is rhetorical question, I don't need a list thank you!
I found myself browsing through the Velar / Sport / Full Fat brochures and prices lists and feeling 'want' (silver wheels and clear glass!) and thinking about dropping into the shiny new JLR dealership in MK when I'm over that way tomorrow.

They have worked their voodoo magic on you over the years. And now you cannot resists and will give in to your true desires. Once you "get" the Land Rover / Range Rover itch, it never goes away.

I bet a sport or Velar is a damn nice place to be sat if your doing a load of miles each year.

Can you both stop it please!!
I'm sure you're right, spending hours suspended on air surrounded by semi-aniline leather and listening to a decent sound system would make it a more pleasant experience....

What would it do for fuel economy though?

I was pretty much driving past! Based purely on a test sit, I agree with PG that the Sport is the best in the range and thats with the old interior. The Velar needs the leather topped dash, which the close to £80k one in the showroom didn't have, nor did it have the digital dials. The FF has surprisingly narrow and initially uncomfortable (may be better over time) rear seats but the smell and feel of the leather was lovely. The whole range, Discovery included, are much smaller inside than you'd expect. In order to passthe sitting behind my seat position test I had to have the drivers seat slightly forward in the Velar/Discovery and the Sport/FF just scraped through but my knees where touching the seat back and my head was too close to the headliner in the Velar, but the rest weren't much better. I appreciate that gives you a better view out, but it wasn't what I expected.

That looks a successful update. Still nicely pure in shape.
I wonder what % of sales will be for the hybrid 400e model. In the RRS I expect it will be quite high as the BIK comes down to 13% and I reckon most RRS are bought as company purchases.

I'm sure these figures are achievable if you do a lot of short journeys and remember to plug the damn thing in every night.
CAR mag got 39mpg from their BMW i3 PHEV last month........
