I can't remember what we called the old thread about over-badged cars.
Anyway I just saw an early 2000s Merc E220 CDI AMG in gold with shirt button wheels.

Good call. It had a slightly cringy title - I prefer this one.

I think it qas something like "Is there anything sadder then an M316" or something? Perhaps this should be called "Oh no it isn't" in true pantomime fashion?

Ok, let's get the ball rolling on this topic again.
4 Series convertible. M4 badge on the bootlid. But wait. The sound isn't quite right. In fact, it's not there at all. And neither are the 4 exhausts, just twin pipes on one side.
Oh dear. Why?

Just seen a Jaguar S-Type Turbo Sport. I think the sport badge was legit but the font of the turbo badge was dreadfully wrong even at a poor attempt to look pucka

I followed a brand new Honda Civic Type R this morning. Except it had puny wheels, only 1 (or was it 2, certainly not 3 anyway) exhausts and no aero addenda. The owner has clearly been quick off the mark getting extra badges.

An alleged Audi S4 outside the local Tesco this afternoon, complete with silver mirror caps, S4 grille badge and S/RS wheels.
And a very rough-sounding dieselly clatter from under the bonnet! A quick check showed it was, indeed, a boggo A4 TDi underneathit all!

Not cars, but I was in the vets earlier and heard a customer asked what breed their dog was and replying Cocka-Poo. Incorrect, your dog is a mongrel.

I saw an Audi S4 today, the old, old (B7?) one, whilst at the petrol station. They’re quite a discreet cars but I still recognised this one partly thanks to the S4 badges on the wings, the S4 registration plate and the large RS4 style oval exhaust pipes instead of the more regular quad offering. Interestingly it was a diesel.

The picture isn’t clear but this is an MX1.

I also spotted an MX1 last night. Well, I became aware of it as it tried to force itself into my lane by moving across on me as it was alongside.
It had all those usual M car styling cues such as a single pipe exhaust, small wheels and the all important M badge. Just to reinforce the point it had a 2 inch high go-faster stripe along the full length in the tricolours of M division.

Spotted at lunchtime a BMW MX5. They should really remove the X5 40d badges from the front wings if they're trying to pass it off as an M. It probably also wouldn't hurt their cause if it was on an M Sport version rather than the SE.

In the scheme of things which includes putting snow chains on the front wheels of a 1 series it is one of the lesser idiotic moves.

Perhaps they got their 5 year old to stick the letter M where he thought was best.

Saw a manky Ford Fusion with a Mountune badge on it earlier. I hope it was applied with tongue firmly attached to cheek! Sleeper.

A Jeep Grand Cherokee with a V8 badge on the wing pulled up next to me at traffic lights. Didn't look much like an SRT. Ah, no, as it pulled away I realised it was the much sought after V8 diesel with the CRD V8 badge on the back.
