JC... any news yet ?? Anyway, was out in town on Saturday getting a few bits and pieces. I'd seen this watch last year and liked the design but at £199 it was too expensive to justify. Not seen it reduced in sales either. Yesterday it was in the window of one of the two leading national chains of jewellers for £99, half-price offer, and I thought "Why not"? Treat myself as a reward for getting the new job. When I asked to try it on, I was then told that some lines were on a new sale promotion effective from that same morning, another 20% off, so for £79.20 it is mine

I have a Citizen Eco Drive that I’ve owned for a number of years. I left it in a drawer and it died. It’s solar powered, so I took it out to charge it and still nothing. Found on a forum that it can take 4-5 days of charging to get them going again, and since it’s very sunny here, that should work. My only concern is that it doesn’t get too got as leaving it inside the windowsill still allows it to heat up a good bit and it’s over 100 here all week. We’ll see how it goes. My daily watch is a Garmin that I bought for running but ended up wearing most of the time, so I’m looking forward to getting the other one going again.

Still waiting to find out what happened to John C's ecodrive...... Not sure about JC’s but mine is working again. Left it charging for a few days and it’s as good as ever now. Think I’ll wear it as my daily again.

Still waiting to find out what happened to John C's ecodrive...... Sorry Chris, I missed this. I think my Red Arrows Eco Drive is goosed! It runs OK but it just won't reset to the right time. Even when I reset it manually, it changes the time to something different during the night. It isn't out a lot (about 12 minutes) but nothing I do seems to work.

It’s nice but 34mm diameter is quite small.

Yeah, you have to have the biggest watch face available for ultimate Instagram points.

It’s nice but 34mm diameter is quite small. You'd probably want as least a 40mm case but I see they do the same watch in a 42mm. The only thing with these watches is the pricing. I appreciate its a chrono but Charging £350 for quartz movement always is painful no matter how lovely the watch is.

This arrived today; Christopher Ward C60 #Tide, so far I'm very impressed, the quality is amazing, it wears very well, plus there is a positive message (ocean plastics):

That's nice. I'm currently wearing a Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. What I would really like is a watch like the above that linked to phone as a fitness tracker without daft battery life and screen nonsense.

I actually entered the Williams thing to win a Bremont WR-22. Reality check say's I will not win but a giraffe is just as tall etc.
Hahahahahaha, just seen what they go for and my floor has never been inspected so closely. Giraffe alright.....
£6k! For a watch?

Does look nice.
And most importantly wearable.
Rolex prices appear to have suddenly gone so bananas that even I, who doesn't usually bat an eyelid about such things as I fail to see the point of having things you don't use, have started to have reservations about continuing to regularly wear mine. It seems to now be worth about three times the not inconsiderable amount I paid for it in 2009. At the time, it seemed like a barely justifiable over-indulgence but it has bizarrely turned out to be one of my best investments.

Well, it makes my last rolexed look positively spartan and disposable. Sometimes we get it right. I bought a limited edition Whisky a lot of years ago at the good food show. 4000 made and originally in the region of £500 per. I bought in at £180 and while I am not particularly minded to consider it an investment, last check was circa £4k value.

^^^ Pointlessly impressive! But what time is it? Another one who likes' Humph's new CW watch.
I have currently closed the gates at 17 watches and I wear about 12 of them regularly.

I have some three or four, I think and wear none. Not much point with my social calendar being so well, empty.
I believe a Seiko at £40 ish is the most I have paid. It was more important to me when I wore a suit a fair bit and still have four or five suits but not needed any more till I stop my clogs.
Thinking about it I should find out where mine are.

Could have been almost anything as most brands have a chronograph of similar design (I guess most use the same movement which dictates the dial/hand positions). Not expensive at least rules out Omega, Zenith, Tudor etc - perhaps more likely a Seiko (mid range pricing I guess) or Tissot, Bulova, Timex, Citizen

I'll have a look at those. The face colour made me think of the 70s although it wasn't brown or blue!
