Heavy tea/coffee stains gone if you use half a teaspoon of washing podwer with hot water. Let it soak for twenty minutes, rinse and dry.

Bleach works as well, if not quicker.

Many years ago our office had a tea club (£1 a week) which included biscuits... Never had a tea club, but used to enjoy morning coffee and afternoon tea from the tea trolley at my first job. And the tea lady brought biscuits too. I can just imagine item 4 on the Board meeting - "decision as to whether biscuits should be chocolate or plain".

Years ago I had a colleague who drank black tea and NEVER washed his cup. Occasionally the cleaner would get their hands on it and give it a good clean which really, really annoyed him!

Back when I was a student there was a Nursing Officer who was like that. His mug was allegedly SO bad, the spoon could be stood up in it without any liquid being present at all! Now, that's minging!!!

If you have a minging mug, chances are nobody is going to borrow it. Not being a dirty mug practitioner I am still uncomfortable with othes being dictated too by a cleaner or anyone else.

My tea goes in a mug with a picture of a dog with a camera around his neck on it, I drink milk from it too. Hot chocolate goes in a funnel glass, fruit juice goes in a tall tumbler glass and when Mrs WW makes me a treat of iced tea and there's one in front of me as I type as I've been a good boy, it goes in one of those glass jars with a handle and a straw in it. I drink cider by the wine glass, I usually have one glass as a treat on Saturday and Sunday together with a posh ice cream, current fav being Haagen-Dazs chocolate drizzle.
I don't wash my tea/milk mug during the day, it just gets washed before bed.
