Is the plan to leave it now permanently in Italy? Or will you need to keep driving it back to the UK to avoid having to re-register etc? We will get it re-registered in due course. I found insurance that will cover it long-term out there for the time being.

Thought I’d provide an update on our Mini adventures. We had a family reunion in northern Italy over the bank holiday w/end, so we flew down, picked up the car and drove up. Roughly 700kms of driving all-in that was absolutely no sweat. The Mini once again proving that that it is just very fit for purpose. I’ve said this before but it’s just so poised and capable on the motorway for a small car with a small engine, and then fun to punt along the twisties. From a touring perspective, it also has a surprisingly capacious boot and it sips fuel. It’s a small fuel tank but you’ll still get over 600kms between fills. Downsides? The ride is mostly fine but it can be uncomfortably bumpy on scarred tarmac - blame those smart 17” alloys, because as an Exclusive, it doesn’t have Sport suspension. 136bhp provides it with more than enough zip for most people but for more a little more wouldn’t go amiss. The wireless charging in the armrest functions at a glacial place and makes the phone boil. And I do miss having a sunroof. But apart from that, it’s great.

Please to hear you are still enjoying it. ....The wireless charging in the armrest functions at a glacial place and makes the phone boil..... Yes, the armrest wireless charging is handy to have but it sure does boil your phone. I'm sure it can't be good for the battery long term? If I put my phone in there and then use google maps via apple Carplay, the phone has no more charge when it comes out than when it went in. I've no other experience of wireless charging, so is it usually really fast or slow everywhere?
