We have just one station left selling E5 (which I prefer for the Elgrand and is a must have for the boat - £374 for the last fill up!) - supply has not aways been consistent and then last week, E5 was all they had!

The worst I've had is £139 to fill up (c80 litres, so it wasn't empty). It's come down slightly but was still £120 to fill up on Friday and I had just under 100 miles range. Current cost is around 27p per mile vs 18p per mile when I bought it 2 years ago, so that's an extra £100 a month plus another £85 a month in the Golf. Some of that I'm getting back in business mileage, but that's short by £130 a month as I only get 16p/15p per mile, so it's around £150 a month extra cost to me.

Over the weekend, diesel went up 2p/litre at the local garage meaning that the recent duty cut has been wiped out now. Didn't see how much petrol was

€1.94 a litre here today for regular diesel when I filled up. Can you put high performance diesel into a regular diesel tank? Must look and see if my car can do that.

I’ve found the more expensive diesel to be a waste of money, tried it in the 535d and current car. But yes, you can put it in any diesel fuelled car.

I think the advantage of the likes of VPower diesel is in the cleaning agents they put in the fuel. They help keep the injectors and fuel pumps running better for longer. In performance terms I haven't noticed any real difference I could measure. Some days the car was sharper than others with throttle response and acceleration but that could easily have been down to air temperature or air density on the day.

Topped up (just over half a tank) last night. Tesco citing 176.9ppl, although they only had 4 out of 12 diesel pumps open, whereas Asda (next door) were 173.7ppl
Still a shockingly high price which I find really rather difficult to understand the reasons for if I'm honest (I know, I can be a bit dense about these things sometimes), but especially as I have to drive as part of my job. The only saving grace is our health board have increased the mileage rates for 3 months to help out.
Whoopie-doo.

Diesel was 199.9 ppl at Stafford Services on the M6 on Tuesday. If I were foolish enough to fill my car from empty at that place it would cost more than £150.

Filled up yesterday with E10 (Ioniq isn't a fussy eater!) and it's crept up by 6p/ltr in less than a week. Local BP and Shell have all moved from £1.61 to £1.67 in that time. Makes Rishi's tax break rather moot.
What I've noticed is that last time we had a big spike in fuel prices there was a noticeable reduction in traffic and speed of traffic, especially on the motorway but that seems to be less prevalent this time.

I thought i caught something on the radio that fuel sales were down by 200,000 litres - but not sure over what timeframe - and they were inferring people were being more selective about their travel.

I thought i caught something on the radio that fuel sales were down by 200,000 litres - but not sure over what timeframe - and they were inferring people were being more selective about their travel. www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-61463280From the BBC article: "Petrol station operator Ascona Group, which owns 60 UK petrol stations, said the amount of fuel it sold had dropped by 200,000 litres a week compared to pre-pandemic levels." If one operator has seen sales from by 200,000 litres per week, I wonder that the national figure is? Whatever, many of us are being royally stuffed by the onslaught of rising prices. I wonder how much the "pent up demand" for overseas holidays is going to suffer over the next few months too?

I'm heading Stateside tomorrow so i'll leave my half tank of VPower in the car till I get back and will be checking out the Floridian prices shortly. I have about 1,000 miles of driving so that's likely to be about 3 tanks worth.

Filled the Mini up yesterday evening. When it costs £70 to fill up a Mini you know prices have gone bonkers.

Checked the price yesterday at my local Tesco - 165ish for petrol and 177 for diesel. Filled up at Asda for the same price (diesel) There's another garage near me that was 178 for diesel but 175 for petrol.

Over the last weekend fuel went up 3p per litre in my area Talk is that it's going to keep going up further still. Wholesale prices are rising faster than the price of a barrel of oil, I'm guessing that refining the stuff is costing more probably from the costs of the raw materials that go into it as additives.

The Esso across from work has put their price up to £1.83 for both petrol and diesel. Whilst they are more than 10p expensive than anywhere else in town, they have been the first ones to jump and the others then follow.

Fuel at my local station has been creeping up seemingly daily by 1p or 2p per litre to the point where diesel is IIRC 194.9.
I filled the A1 up with petrol on my way home this evening, at 191.9 it's the most expensive fuel I have ever bought (though that will surely change the next time I fuel the Kuga); this was for Sainsburys super unleaded E5, to avoid using the E10 muck that's now commonplace. I was very pleased to get home, do the sums and find I've averaged 46.4mpg over the past 320 miles in it

I filled the Golf up when I was in MK today as full fat petrol was 6p a litre cheaper than my local place. It still cost £92 to fill up and the fuel light wasn’t even on….. £92 to fill a small hatchback!!

I went to fill the 430 yesterday, the light came on about 2 miles from the garage. Tesco have a £99 limit and that clicked the pump off before the tank was full, albeit the needle on the gauge is at the full mark.
