Noticed diesel at 155 at the Shell garage on outskirts of Aberdeen this morning, I think that's the same as down in Fife

Hard choice, Watford has better shopping including one of the best camera shops in the south east and i hope that the local council is better than Surrey Heath, one of the main reasons I would like to move away from this area

The advisory fuel rates get reviewed 4 times a year, latest is 1st March. No change for either car, so still only 15p for the Golf and 16p for the RR. So I’d need to achieve at least 47-48mpg and 43-44mpg…..that means I’m funding 40% of business miles in my car and 30% in the Golf.

45ppm for those of us without a car allowance. It feels as if that hasn't gone up in 20 years.
I can remember getting 37ppm in 1995 when a litre of petrol was about 50p.

Most allowances haven't kept up with inflation. An example being our overnight allowance for dinner/breakfast which has remained at £40 for the entirety of the 14 years I've been working for my company and having to stay away overnight. Supposedly the tax man doesn't allow it to increase without it being deemed to be a taxable benefit. It had rather limited how drunk we can get on companies coin these days.

Diesel around me has gone up from 149.9p/litre a few weeks ago to 161.9p/litre this morning. I didn't notice if it had gone up again this evening on my way home as I didn't quite go past my local filling station, returning home a different way to that used to get there

I just bought some red diesel. The company we use quoted 84p / litre on Tuesday but they had run out and were waiting for a new delivery. Yesterday's new delivery is at 96.6 p / litre + VAT. Allowing for the duty difference expect to see road diesel at £1.75 / litre pretty soon.

I got "lucky" today, went to see mum and the diesel in the filling station almost opposite her house was "only" 157.9p/litre, so I filled up

If it makes you all feel any better, this American meme suggests it's not just us feeling the pinch when it comes go petrol. Whether that means there will be a bigger push for global supply to increase to bring the price of crude down I don't know.

Garage near me put its prices for premium petrol and diesel at €1.99.9 today. Regular is €1.95.9 In California, prices have gone over $6 in some places- I paid $1.99.9 a gallon at one stage a few years ago.
I was out to the shop this morning and one of those oil tank drivers was delivering kerosene to a house at the end of my road. He told me prices have gone up €.07 a litre since Friday and that they are losing money on orders if they take them more than a few days in advance. Kerosene is up over 60% this year over here.

I ran a quote on Boilerjuice purely out of interest and they were unable to quote due to demand. I run out in July according to current usage, so I'm not that bothered.

Heating oil is over £1 per litre. I don't need any until about June/July at current consumption, but can't help wondering whether I need to put an order in before it gets too silly, or just suck it up as and when.

£120 to fill up in my car on the way home yesterday. I’ve used the Golf today and using on full fat petrol it’s cheaper to run. It was mainly A1 and Motorway, but it managed a 43mpg average over 250 miles. Quite a lot of cross country on on the way home tomorrow, so it won’t be as economical but it will be more fun.

Shell has upped to 173.9 as of yesterday. Even the ASDA, which is the cheapest I have found, was £1.57 for diesel yesterday when I had no choice but to fill up.

1.85 for Vpower here, wrong time to be dynoing the buggy We are "only" 179.9 for VPower but I am really beginning to notice the huge increase now every time I fill up. The middle of 2020 was great when my normal quarter tank to full only cost about £60. Now it is close to £100.

BP at the top of our village dropped their prices by 3p today and all other garages around here have kept their prices as they were on Friday so I hope this means that the price has plateaued for now but I worry it won't take much for another jump. I managed to fill up for £1.57 at a Sainsbury's in Crawley on Sunday which was the cheapest around by over 7p/L.
The wider implications of sustained high diesel prices, particularly if its a long term trend, is the effect on prices of all our other everyday staple products as it'll cost more to transport them. Another reason why the cancellation of the HS2 Eastern leg is a stupid idea that squanders the chance to put more of our freight on the railways which is cheaper and less polluting.

The consensus from people I know, who are in the know, is that prices have peaked provided Putin doesn't try to stick his tanks into any more countries. There is some concern though that people will rush to fill up when they see prices fall and that could create a short term shortage such as the one we had last September.
If people behave we should see a softening of prices over the next month or two and no supply issues.

Fingers crossed your right Jon, I was reading the other day that in the short term they were expecting the price to drop but could go as high as £2.50 if things don't settle down soon.
Whilst we're all in fuel poverty, I see the Indians are buying as much cheap Russian Oil as they can. The cheeky so and so's

The cheeky so and so's I have been surprised to see how much India is supporting Russia in all of this and wondered why. It always used to be Pakistan that was more allied to Russia.
