It's used dairy pipe chopped out of the farm, otherwise the welds would be prettier, but it's well tuned, the lengths are the same to +-1mm, 44" long primaries to put the primary pulse tuning down around 4.5k, which is right after it switches to the big vtec cams - so the engine makes huge amounts of midrange power without the drop/kick for vtec (normally at 6k+ on an S2000) I can't even stall it, I can literally just drop the clutch in second gear with no throttle as hard as you like and it drives off.

Sorry mate, we had one when I was a kid, a gentler animal you will not find. Ben's father was the first Rotweiler grand champion at crufts and he is still missed when I see another.

He was lovely, to be honest he was pretty sick already in those pics and had lost a lot of weight, he was huge, would stand up and put his paws on your shoulders and push you over so he could cuddle you. I mean I'm 6ft and 11 stone and you didn't get a choice in the matter!

I've seen all those drift lads love their cable tied bumpers and crack repairs, so I'm starting a new 'scene' - cable tied windscreens. The in thing for 2022. Grab yourself a drill, quick!

Does it have Shogun Pinin front wheels and full fat Shogun rears? Only ask because I noticed the fronts are 5 stud and the rears 6. Is that a function thing or just what you had lying around and made hubs to match?

Is that a function thing or just what you had lying around and made hubs to match? It does! Function mainly, the 5 stud are lighter, but the 6 stud is the only pattern that will get out wide enough for the rear hubs - they're really trick, they have huge bearings in and the driveshafts actually pass through them - apart from a 3mm thick steel ring to spread the load they pretty much bolt up to the wheel face itself so the driveshafts are really long to keep the angles down. And the Shogun wheels are some of the only things I could find with enough offset to get them back into the arches far enough. You can see the CV joint right behind the little spreader ring there.

Had a bit of a nightmare, turns out the dyno tuner had also half cooked a couple of injectors and they'd gone sticky, couldn't tune it. So, more new bits of loom and some aftermarket huge 1050cc injectors fitted (may as well have headroom, right?): And while I was there replaced the last bit of the honda loom to the crank sensor since that was cracking in places (the OE looms are shite), and adapted a proper connector to the crank and cam sensors at the same time instead of joining in halfway with a superseal. Checked the valve clearances while I was at everything else: And then quickly rejigged the map for the new injector size and dead times, etc, took it for a gentle run, issue fixed:

Fixed the hesitation around vtec tonight - much better, it was only half throttle on that video - fitted the GPS and G-sensors, rebuilt the alternator, all ready to go on Friday, fingers crossed, 'cause there's a race the weekend after.

Looking good. However that 2nd last photo had me thinking one front wheel was pointing left and the other right!

Great fun, good job we took it easy though, got the engine out today and the clutch has a wobbly circle instead of a spline in the centre, god knows how it stayed driving

Very nice - this is basically a full sized version of the off road RC buggies many of us had as kids (and some of us still do.................)
