TBH with the high number of covid cases and deaths in Turkey, I'm a little surprised that the race still seems to be going ahead. Let's hope that all participants, teams, media, spectators etc remain virus-free

Lewis takes his engine penalty. That means Mercedes are comfortable with their performance here and in a following couple of races. They might drop points but looking at early pace possibly fewer than they might and they also fancy Lewis to make any championship gap up to Verstappen in a subsequent race.

Just to clarify, does pole mean the drive who gets pole, or the drive who starts from pole after penalties?

Pole = driver who starts the race on pole, so it won't be Lewis, or Sainz who is also taking an engine penalty

That must be more than half the grid who have taken an engine penalty which either means that the teams and F1 rule makers have grossly underestimated the ability of 3 engines to survive a sustained competitive campaign that lasts 20+ races or they did know but knew that nobbling the front runners in the later stages of the season would make for more entertainment.

Given Hamiltons/Mercedes pace in qualy and Vestappens/Red Bull’s lack of pace in comparison, I can actually see Hamilton winning this.

If he actually pulls a digit out and beats Max away from the lights he'll win. There's just no way he's going to let Lewis through later on in the race even if Toto comes out to the pitwall and screams at him to. If he can't pull away he needs to at least hold Max up but we saw last time out just how much of a clumsy job he made of it.
